I am an allergic to an enzyme of animal protein and should and need to stay vegan.

But have recently been eating meat again because family had me do so.

How do I go back to being vegan when I'm having self control issues?

I noticed that someone mentioned Quorn. Quorn isn't vegan, so it won't be a suitable substitute. Tofu and seitan would be worth trying, both are nutritious foodstuff that can take the place that meat would normally occupy. Your local health food store may also stock vegan meat replacements, and can offer advice.

You should really be talking to your parents and telling them that they are threatening your health by forcing you to eat meat. If they won't listen, take care of your own meals.

1. There are no "meatly nutrients" that can't be found in a herbivorous diet.
2. Vegan diet's are a better source of iron since we typically eat more vitamin C, which helps us absorb it. Studies show that vegans are no more likely to have an iron deficiency.
3. Chicken is not a particularly good source of iron.
4. Quorn contains eggs. Where do all the male chicks go?
5. There's no way a plant based diet made anyone ill. A bad diet makes people ill, plant based or not.

Wholemeal wheat is also a good source of iron.

Simply google vegan meals. there is plently of variety, especially in Indian cooking,

I was going to suggest a great cookbook called Vegan On The Cheap - it has several easy to make and tasty meat substitutes, from burgers to seitan to a fake "italian meat", meatballs, lunchmeat... you name it.

But as I read through the thread it looks like your problem seems to be that your family doesn't care that meat makes you sick, and serves it anyway, and you can't/won't fight them on it. So I have no advice for that. At some point, you will get tired of being sick, and learn to stand up for yourself and your health. When you do, I hope you check out the cookbook mentioned above.
