Deltafunction- What is cottage cheese and blueberries like? I have to admit, I'm a bit afraid of cottage cheese. It looks so unappetising, like chunky and wet and stuff o_0...

OliveOilMom- Ok good to know. I just heard there were other kinds of butter before, more natural kinds, but I never looked into it. I don't like Land O Lakes, it lacks that real butter flavor.

I'll post more recipes later. Just have to do some more experimenting first.

Another recipe I like is " ants on a log"

Cut up into decent lengths
Fill centers with peanut butter
Top with raisins

It tastes great and super easy to make

Is that not completely-subjective?

Hummus!! !
I usually buy it because I am lazy but I do make it as well.
1 or 2 cans of garbanzo beans
1 or 2 teaspoons of tahini
Put through food processor. You can use a blender though.

I do eat hummus a lot! But my recipe is a little different: 1 cup garbanzo beans, 1 tbsp tahini, 1 lemon juiced, 2 garlic cloves, 1/2 tsp sea salt. Lemon juice gives it a nice kick. You can also add 1 roasted red bell pepper for a nice change. Eat with raw veggies, crackers, tortillas, or integral bread.

my favorite thing to eat theses days:

Breakfast cake!

depending on quantity you want to make, well i cant really say the measure but let say you want to have couple of snack made ahead, you would do:

2 cups of couscous whole wheat (or spelt)
2 cups of quick oatmeal organic
2 to 3 apples shredded
1 cup of soymilk or almond milk vanilla flavour
1 cup of your favorite nuts (optional)
3 to 4 eggs beaten
honey to taste

how to make it:

1- Cook the couscous
2- Mix couscous, oatmeal, shredded apples, soy milk together. put it in a cake pan but dont tap the mixture in the pan as you want it to be somewhat fluffy.
3- Pour the beaten eggs onto the mixture evenly and then, just mix it a bit with it. does not have to be mix evenly but it has to be even on the top. (as you can see mixture all over)
4- Pour honey to taste over it. i like to drizzle it all over the top.
5- Cook for about 40 min at 400 F

I enjoy eating this mostly cold actually. with apple sauce and plain yogourt! hmmmm :)

enjoy!

i like to have a little bit of fruit cocktail mixed with low-fat greek yoghurt. i put it in the microwave for 30 seconds because i find most fruit to be unpleasantly cold in my mouth (weird, i know).

another snack i enjoy is a bowl of raisin bran cereal with oat milk.

I just got a food processor and I love making hummus out of a can of chick peas and some Tamari sauce. I just take one regular sized can and splash some tamari sauce on it in the food processor and process until it's smooth. I love spreading it on toasted whole wheat bread with a little salt, yellow mustard and sliced cucumbers I prepare in the food processor as well. Makes a nice, healthy sandwich. Food processors sure do make healthy eating easier. It lets me make hummus without added fat or oil.

Got a new and easy one that I really like.

Healthy Banana Snack Smoothie:
1/2 to 1 cup Non Fat or Low Fat Yogurt
1/2 cup Non Fat or 1% Milk
1/2 cup Water
1/2 Bananna
A Palmful of mixed berries (Optional)

Combine all ingredients in a blender and enjoy!

I find this is perfect for a post workout meal. It's good as a preworkout meal as well.

You will require:

1 can of sweetened condensed milk (keep with me on this)
1 400g bar of chocolate
1 packet of digestive biscuits/graham crackers bashed in a plastic bag, into 2cm pieces
150/Half a block of butter

In a glass bowl, melt the butter and chocolate together. Mix in the condensed milk, then quickly mix in the biscuits. Pour into a tray, and slice.

Eat it all up!! !

I'm not sure if that's healthy, but it sounds like it would be good! I wouldn't have thought of combining chocolate with a biscuit either.

Well, it doesn't sound *that* healthy. I'm sure replacing the biscuits with granola though will make all the difference!

I got this "Raw cookies" recipe. These are the best cookies I have ever tried. The only problem is to keep yourself from eating them all at once.

1/2 cup almonds soaked overnight
1 small banana
5 dates, pitted and cut into small pieces
1/2 cup shredded coconut
1/4 cup raisins
1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
1/4 cup toasted cacao beans, broken into small pieces
dash of cinnamon
1/4 tsp pure vanilla

In a bowl, mix coconut, raisins, walnuts, cacao, and cinnamon together.

Place almonds, banana, dates, vanilla, and about 1 tbs of the almond water in the food processor. Pulse until everything is blended in.

Add the almonds mix to the coconut mix, and mix together with a wooden spoon until well integrated.

Take about 1 tablespoon of the mix to form your cookies. You can shape them into little balls or flatten them out to cookie shape. Put your cookies into a non-stick cookie sheet and let them dry to air for a couple of hours until they become more firm. You can also put them on a dehydrator tray for about 10 hours or more depending on how dry you want them.

Eat! It makes about 12 cookies.

My turn:

1 x 400 gm can of tuna in brine
few of large tablespoons tomato paste
1/4 med onion
glove of garlic
few tablespoons of mayonnaise (I use whole egg because condiments are one area I don't restrict myself with, I like flavour....shoot me but you can use low fat I guess just find one that's not sweet if you can)
basil
salt
pepper
Wiz it up in a food processor

Spread on Ryvita....

This is my 'dip and crackers' replacement snack and will last a few days.
