I know that my time at the gym is the only thing keeping me from full-blown depression right now.

I'm in the same boat you are, it does help tremendously though.

I agree. The time invested in sweating on the bike or running/jogging/walking is worth it - easily - and for me it has to be at least every other day or I go right back to the pit of depression. I suggest starting with 20 minutes and going up from there when it feels right.

For the past five years, my training has been my greatest tool of therapy and the glue that holds my life together. I got into weight training in a place where I didn't have much more to do in a day and had little control over my life. This coincided with the realization that I was far from where I wanted to be and felt absolutely horrible, after several years of self-destruction and very bad lifestyle choices.

It was hard to get into this lifestyle and at first, I didn't even feel like I was "cut out" for it. Now, I'm pretty extreme with my training and nutrition and always looking for ways to take it to the next level. I still go through occasional periods of depression, but I am far better able to cope. Without my training, I probably would have fallen back into my old ways.

If you ask me, it's so worth it!!

It's worth it.
The first few times are hard, though, but it gets better.

Excersise definitely make me euphoric, though if I'm doing it when other people are around that stresses me out and takes the edge off the euphoria to some extent.
