That opening ceremonies was off the hook. The lighting of the Olympic Cauldron was by far amazing than any I have saw.

Zhang Yimou, the famed Chinese director in charge of creating
the Opening Cermonies, made the most beautiful one ever seen.

The drummers at the beginning were cool!

^Um U.S.A Has 2 Gold, 2 Silver, and 4 Bronze which is 8. Rice beat Hoff but Hoff got her first Olympic medal anyway. Misty May and Kerri Walsh are more likely take the gold in beach volleyball once again. I'm actually happy to hear that South Korea got is first swimming medal at least. (Both North and South Korea are competing as two different nations vs. the last two Olympiad) Sometimes not winning a medal doesn't mean nothing because being able to compete in the Olympics is the greatest thing to happened to anyone.

Congratulations to Australia!

*Bows to Australian Aspies*

They showed a clip of Misty May and Kerri Walsh
teaching President Bush how to play beach volleyball.
It was hilarious to watch!

Michael Phelps won his first gold medal at Beijing.

Katie Hoff is due to swim again tonight in the 200M freestyle.

Congratulations to the US relay ladies for medaling silver
in the 4X100 freestyle relay!

Congratulations to fellow Oregonians Mariel Zagunis
and Becca Ward for medaling in fencing!

I am disappointed by our athletes performance so far, I have high hopes for Jujie Luan and Sherrain Schalm in fencing, Jujie Luan had won gold for China in 1984, but she playing for Canada now and lives in my hometown of Edmonton, so we are proud of her.

Interesting news today that several of the opening night fireworks and light effects were faked for tv! suckers!

Watched the men's tandem diving yesterday. fun. very tense. There's another diving event on shortly. I've tried to catch some weightlifting but it never seems to be on at the scheduled time.

Um 300 Billion dollars for that opening ceremony and the footsteps were CGI but those fireworks were real because China invented fireworks. Great Britain would more likely not match this opening ceremony at all come 2012 at London.

US Men Gymnastics Team won bronze,
came very close to not medaling at all.

Japan won silver and China won gold in team competition.

More fraud in the opening ceremony, the little girl in red only mimed to another (less pretty?) girls voice. gawd. how pathetic.

^Your opinion though. Anyway Phelps is the leader of career gold medalists with 11 gold and along with most decorated Olympian with 13 career medals.
