how so? my argument is for humans not cows, pigs and sheep. my main concern is the advancement of humanity as a whole

that's extremely pessimistic if all you hope to achieve in life in to feed the worms

Deathism is not the way, that's the end and who is to say when it ends? only you, if you want to take your life that's your prerogative not mine however if you choose to die at the ripe old age of 85(the average) that's also your prerogative

i believe in human rights it is our right to control whether we live or die because it's our body

besides once In Vitro Meat is available for public consumption billions of animals a year will live and the world will get their meat through cloning and stem cells

right now its mainly being researched to be used as food for astronauts but PETA put out a $1,000,000 reward to go to the first company to make it available to the public

BTW In Vitro Meat is NOT fake meat it is 100% real its just artificially grown but it is NOT a meat substitute it is for all intents and purposes meat

I am only 21, but i've lived a pretty difficult, long life.
Where as most people start living alone at maybe 18? I started at 5.
But that's not the point.

When you've lived through some more stuff, you'll realise why it's not a bad thing to die eventually.

But it's clear you're very un-open to any other opinion, so I shall respectfully leave this conversation.

the biggest thing i enjoy about being my age is that i can easily go from being my normal near ancient like mature status to childlike very quickly

most my friends cant keep up between my shifts you know going from talking about science, politics, and religion to video games isnt easy for N/Ts to adapt to easily

its not that im unopen to other opinions its just that with recent advances(namely successfully reversing aging in lab ras at Harvard) i am confident its a real future for humanity and, though i doubt ill be of any actual help since i cant seem to be able to do anything right, i intend to help in any way possible and who knows with my current knowledge on the subject plus the added knowledge that would come from Universtiy studies on the subject later in life after high school i may be of some help after all that would be nice to know before the end

That's all 100% within our control. And by that, we are much LESS LIKELY to get diabetes, heart problems, obese, or other things that CAN result from careless behavior. I do acknowledge that there are cases where a person is stricken with conditions or an accident, whereby that's not easy or possible. But for those not stricken, it IS possible. I'm going to be 44 next month, and I can outlift, outswim, outrun, (and outdo in many other ways), most high school & college athletes. I don't drink, smoke, use drugs, or sit around, and I don't eat junk. I can easily pass for a college football player with my shirt off, as long as there's a bag over my Over-40 face, LOL...

I intend to die in my sleep at age 100-something after a motocross race or after a weightlifting competition.

Charles

part of whose plan? yours? or someone elses? no one should have to die

why die in your sleep at 100 like a helpless child or prisoner when you can die on your feet like a human(personally i enjoyed the way Chewie died, with his fists raised in defiance as a moon came crashing down on him; i hate that he died he was one of my favorites) during a motocross race or not at all?

I guess it's just my plan, LOL... I'm an agnostic, so I won't say it's anything from a religious faith. The idea of living about 100 years just sounds about right, and I can't explain it beyond that, I guess. I also mean to say that I don't want to live with pain & long-term illnesses, long stays in hospitals or nursing homes, or have age-related disabilities that might stop me from living my life as it is, or above all, become a burden for someone.

Charles

well said, i respect your opinion and i agree with you partially; if i were in a state where i was practically a vegetable and nothing but a burden on whomever my caretaker is i would prefer to be dead than to be a burden on someone else its not my place to ruin their lives by having me be taken care of by them instead of them living their life

another thing is i dont want to be referred to in the past tense

I.E. Brandon Michael King was a man of few serious words and a lot of dirty jokes that will live on past his passing away, he will be forever missed

Brandon King was the type of guy who enjoyed hugging people and cuddling with his female friends(non sexual i just really love cuddling for some reason)

see? referring to me in the past tense is something i dont want to ever happen

so how exactly is wanting to never die selfish? personally i hate death as a whole and i believe its more selfish to want everyone's life to end, and by finding a way to keep everyone in the world alive forever thats the most selfless thing i have ever heard of

grow the hell up and you will understand. Observe the world, instead of letting your feelings tell you what things should be like.

Riight, until the earth becomes over-run by people.

well lets think look at how much more billions of people the earth can hold? by the time we even have to worry about it we would have already colonized other planets and if the universe is infinite as scientists theorize(we do know that planets can die and be created naturally through the course of time) then we can theoretically forever expand

yeah, and completely f*****g wreck other parts of the universe? Humanity really should be classified as a damn insterstellar virus due to how we destroy everything. And why the hell do we need even more people? explain that. What really should happen is an equilibrium, no growth or decline in population, but that would have to wait til after a 50% population cut.

Just because someone is physically 5 years older, doesn't mean they're not a lot older mentally.
You're still stuck in that teenager lets-live-forever phase.
