It would alot better for the NHL if Atlanta Thrashers relocated to Winnipeg, with the Atlanta Falcons ( NFL ) on an uprise with the talent they have. It means more people in Atlanta, or the entire state of Georgia will watch them instead. If they go to Winnipeg, you will have people coming in every home game. The same fate can happen to Phoenix, or Florida for that matter.

It looks like a deal is almost finalized for the owner of True North to buy the Thrashers and relocate them to Winnipeg.

Maybe it could happen, but also keep in mind Seattle just lost an NBA franchise to Oklahoma City a few years back. Sports in general have had bad luck in Seattle, except maybe soccer.

Let me just say that, while I tried to become a Habs fan in the early 2000s, hockey just doesn't mean much without a Winnipeg team.

I'm still surpised that Dallas, Texas has an NHL franchise, and that it has done farily well. 8O
* granted we didn't make into the playoffs. * But when you think of Texas, you think of American Football all the way from pee-wee to the professionals. You don't think of hockey having a strong fanbase in Texas.
