I'd rather have some wrinkles than messed up arteries from sitting around doing nothing.

I prefer women with like 20%ish bodyfat. As far as looking masculine, again, female OL lifters FTW as far as physique goes. Fitness models do look kinda weird to me.

I think I got a crush on Lydia Valentin. Gotta watch the women's 75K event...

Anyway. Look at female athletes. They look great. I don't give a damn about fitness models, but female athletes doing functional athletic things are usually great looking. Look at gymnasts, cyclists, speed skaters, figure skaters, what have you.

The point I am making is that fitness models are much better role models over glamour or fashion models because they are actually promoting a healthy and sustainable lifestyle instead of one that is based on vanity or a lifestyle that is unhealthy.

Uhm.... no.

Even many of the 120lb girl fitness models are on steroids. And then for photoshoots, they purposely dehydrate themselves and stuff. Bodybuilding in it's modern form I don't believe is a pursuit of utmost health. And I do believe it's pretty vain, not that there's worse things you can be doing with your time. I mean if you wanna devote your life to how you look, then more power to you, but it's not my thing, at least that mindset.

I think much better role models for girls are female athletes. As they're about function and not about form alone, whereas a fitness model is just a glamour model, but for the fitness industry. Female athletes are also seen, at, well, their strongest. This happens for guys and girls, they'll see a picture on a fitness model thing, or of a bodybuilder, and not realize they're dehydrated on the day of the shoot, they've been cutting probably in prep for the shoot, etc, and then they go "YOU CAN LOOK LIKE THIS" when they don't even look like that most of the year. At least with athletes, what you're seeing is really what you get.

As far as makeup and healthy skin, I noticed this a lot when I got my license picture taken again. My skin got a LOT better looking from eating more cabbage and carrots, carotenoids help your skin a lot. My skin was pasty lame when I was 230 in 2009, and then when I got it retaken it was a nice healthy glow. Here's an example...

1st is pale, 2nd is tan, 3rd is after increasing carotenoid intake.

See,,. I don't think she looks like a body builder at all.
Now, woman that look like body builders really do look masculine, their body fat is so low that they have no boobs or butts, clearly this girl lacks neither.

Each to his own preference, that's your preference, doesn't mean it is my preference also.

Huh - reading through this thread I actually realised although I look average (a.k.a. normal) without make up, the girls I am comparing myself look normal with make up on and therefore, probably look substantially worse than me once they take their make up off. I just wouldn't know because I have never seen them in public without it on.

Talk about skewing perceptions.

Someone should create a Go Without Makeup international day or something.

I hear you! Just goes to show doesn't it, that even NT's need to hide from the world, behind a false face of a paint pallet ... Oh the pressure to comply!! ! Lord forbid that we see what they really look like. Don't get me wrong, like I said before I look after myself by being fit and healthy, but I get by with just waxing brows and tinting lashes because that lasts a while, and I might only wear make up a few times a year to really flash events (by my standards) I couldn't think of anything worse then to have to spend I don't know how long in front of a mirror primping and preening every single day because I couldn't venture from my home without a face on.

I know of some women that even sleep with make up on WTHeck? 8O

I think it says a lot about a girl if she simply cannot go without makeup for a day in public and not feel bad or paranoid about it, even if only occasionally.

Yet the majority of women I meet are in that category. Kind of scary.

Yeah, I'm like you and it's only really discussions like this that make me think about make-up at all. I get up, wash, put clean clothes on. I put moisturiser on my face so it doesn't feel itchy and that's it. Make-up has never been part of my daily routine, and on the rare occassions that I do wear it, I wear it very sparingly because it feels and looks so strange.

Very, I don't really like the appearance of make up. I mean I'm natural, I look like I have just gotten out of bed in my display image, I prefer a woman that is natural also.

With me and makeup I only wear black eyeshadow. When I don't the staff members tell me how "natural" my makeup looks. When I'm not wearing any!! !! ! So I have to wear makeup every day unless I'm too lazy to do so. I am not a prissy girl but I hate getting compliments on my appearance. I just be polite and say thank you. I'm comfortable with how I look but it frustrates me. I hate unnecessary attention.

Being a plus size(18/20), I don't get much attention from guys. I think I'm attractive but I have my "Meh I'm just average days". I'm not looking for a boyfriend at the moment but I'd hope there'd be guys who like us plus size women.

I once read something that said plus size women should not be allowed to walk the runway because it shows that leading and unhealthy lifestyle is okay. That's such BS. Who said that all plus size women lead an unhealthy life style? I'm seeing a dietician and am starting to eat healthier(not that I didn't beforehand, my biggest weakness was candies)so you can be plus size and fit and healthy. I've put on a bit of weight(10-13 pounds)but once I see my neurologist and get the okay to exercise, and as long as I do what my dietician tells me to do, I'll lose the extra pounds I gained :D
