Bears lost final game. Well, I can stop worrying about that and focus on the postseason.

The Panthers are 15-1. SO CLOSE. Still, they can go on to win the Super Bowl like the '85 Bears.

At least four coaches gone before last games were played. Any other "Black Monday" walking paper predictions?

I have several teams that I like, but mostly I cheer for the Patriots and the Packers (the latter because my mom was born in Wisconsin).

So, I'm thinking we get a Seattle/Washington NFC championship.
I think Carolina is quite beatable and lost alot of momentum after the Beckham/Norman fiasco. They wont survive a red-hot Seattle offense with Lynch back. Russell Wilson will be pulling off more of his crunch time magic.

Just a hunch Washington goes on a run. Jordan Reed is shaping up to be Gronk Jr., and I think we're seeing the development of Kirk Cousins to a legit NFL QB. It'd take alot for them to go into Arizona and win a game, but Arizona got hammered week 17 going into a bye. Not liking that trend.

In the AFC I see things going a little more conventionally. New England/Pittsburgh.

I think the Pats have been playing possum a bit down the stretch. That and having a fully healthy Gronk and Amendola as well as a mostly healthy Edelman will kick start that offense quite a bit. I'd be willing to bet they drop 40 on whomever has the misfortune of crossing their path in the divisional round, which is probably the Chiefs.

Bengals aren't staying in a shootout with their backup QB. With DeAngelo Williams hurt, Pittsburgh is likely to throw the ball close to 60 times. That by default will lead to alot of points. Pittsburgh big. Bengals really needed that bye.

From there, we'd get an NFC championship game in Washington of all places. Washington's much better at home. Seattle's not as good on the road. Makes it close but I can't see Seattle losing that game.

Nor could I see New England losing in that scenario.

So i got the boring Patriots/Seahawks Super Bowl 50.

What do you guys think?

I think Denver's defense is so good, it doesn't matter who their quarterback is, and they emerge as not just AFC champions but are just flat out awarded the NFC championship as well, just cause they're that awesome. Then the starters beat the backups in the Super Bowl. Count on it like the sun rising in the east.

Heh. Very likely scenario you've described there. Denver fan much?

Seriously man, if I were to pick any team riding it's D to the championship it'd be the Texans. While I think Denver's D is very good, Pittsburgh b***h slapped the hell out them only a few weeks ago. That D couldn't even hold, what, a 20 point lead? Ben to Brown is unstoppable right now. You just can't scheme Brown out of the game on D. And I think Denver's D is just a touch overrated on the back of an exceptional early showing on the back of playing some weaker opponents.

Sorry, I just go all serious amateur sports analyst when talking about this stuff...

It's not their D that was this issue in Pittsburgh, nor all year for that matter, it's been their offense. Through 16 games the Denver D had 27 drives that started on their half of the field...not many defenses are going to hold up for 12 wins under that scenario. I don't know what the statistics are on 3 and out, but I would be really surprised if Denver wasn't in the top 5 in that category on offense. Their offense was held scoreless for 3 straight second halfs and averaged 114 yards in the second half in those games (pitt being one of them).

Like I said it's not Denver's D, it's their offense putting their defense in bad situations. f**k Peyton, he's done, I'd rather have Trent Dilfer tbh, at least Dilfer didn't throw a pick six every game and rarely turned the ball over...hell he probably had a higher YPG than Manning or Osweiller this year. 289 ypg is what Denver's D is giving up, that's 15 less than the next closest team (Seattle) and that included playing the Vikings, Packers, Patriots, Steelers, Bengals, and Chiefs(x2). That's 7/16 games against playoff teams, that's not a weak schedule by any means. They went 5-2 against playoff teams, despite having a bottom feeding offense. Let's put it this way, Aaron Rodgers is having a bad year, yes, but even so he only generated a net 50 yards: 77 passing, -27 sack yardage.

You're right it probably won't be their year, it can only be 1 team out of 32 afterall, but if they lose it won't be because of their defense it'll be because of their offense.

Kansas City shuts out Houston to move to the next round.

It was a yawn when I last posted here. It's only recently that it's become interesting.

I started rooting against the Bengals once the fans starting cheering Roethlisberger's injury. Their hearts were broken in the worst way possible. Wow, what a choke. I do feel bad for the rest of the fans, though.

I'm really looking forward to the Vikings game tomorrow. I've always rooted for the Vikings against everyone else.

And then there's the Packers game. I've always rooted for the Packers against everyone but the Vikings.
