Speedtech Club Race # 4 9-22-12

My dad and I had practiced a week before this race and a day before. We were getting our car dialed in before race day. On the morning of the 22nd of September, we did some practice laps and got our car tweaked and turned. After that there was a driver’s meeting and then the racing commenced.

Qualifier #1

I felt nervous but I felt much less nervous than the previous Speedtech race and I was confident that I could make the A main this time. I come blasting out of the gates and my car is under steering just a bit, but it’s sticking to the track like glue. I could see the front left tire lift as I was coming onto the backstretch. I let a few fast racers by but I maintained my speed. I end up qualifying 7th overall.
Qualifier #2
I was in a much faster heat and I had to move over more often so my time was slower, however the track was hotter and greasier and lap times were slower for most racers. I ended up making the A main and qualifying 4th overall.

A main

I was really pumped for racing in the A main because I would be going up against some really good professional racers. Everyone did 3 practice laps and then gridded up for the race. When the tone sounded I got loose off the line and I drop down a few places, but I made a few of them back up after getting by a first turn pile up. I then became lock in a 4 way battle for third. Two laps later, one the cars in front of me roll over and I run into him who rolls my car over and it takes forever for the turn marshal to turn me over. I then get dropped down to 8th. On the last few laps of the race I am in a battle with Sean Williams, a Tamiya Racing Factory driver, with two laps to go. He takes me out and he then let me by, my car is driving strange after the hit and on the last lap he get by me on the sweeper and I end up taking 9th overall. Even though I placed lower than I expected to place. I am happy that I made my very first modified A main. I plan to do better in the next Speedtech club race. The next race is Speedtech Race #5 on November 3rd 2012.

This is is milestone for me in my thread here on wrongplanet.net this is my 50th race report! I hope you have enjoyed reading my race reports over the past 4 years and I plan to do more,a and I hope you continue to read. Thank you.

Speedtech Grand Club Race #5. Nov 4 2012.

My dad and I practiced two weeks in advance for the upcoming race during the moring of the race. We got our car dialed in and had a few practice laps to get us ready for the day.

Qualfiers 1-2

The first qualifier started out a little rough, on the second lap I rolled my car over, however i managed to qualify 8th overall. In the second qualifier I did much better and qualified 6th overall after making no mistakes. I was pumped for the A main.

A main

This is the highest that I have ever qualified in the modified class and I was waiting in anticpation at the start. When the tone sounded, my car drifted to the left a little bit and I got under the driver in front of me and made an awesome pass on him and then got by two other cars as well, moving me up to third. I then tried to break away from the drivers behind me. They were battling back and forth but they were managing to make up ground on me. Hiro, the driver that I made a clean pass on, was able to get by the car in front of him and then closed in on me. I fought tooth and nail to keep him at bay. He was having trouble trying to get by me. With less than two minutes to go, I went a little wide in the sweeper and Hiro was able to get under me and make a clean pass. I ended up finishing forth in the main which happens to be my highest finish ever in modified.

Thank you for reading my report. My next race is round one of the Ultimate F1 winter series. November 17 2012.
