Blissful 20km tonight; the weather was gorgeous and there was lots to see! I didn't get to carried away as I have to go do a demo down in Oliver tomorrow; I guess there's some interest in the combat arts down there. Should be fun and one of my friends is like super excited to see me, lol.

My technical climbing ability is gradually improving; there are so many things to coordinate. I have started (reluctantly) doing some basic strength training so that helps; I have about 30lbs worth of weight at my disposal which isn't much, but I can work with it. Unless fencing is involved, I refuse to set foot inside a gym. Target fixation is one of my biggest issues, lol.

I biked up to Flamingo and came down Race Classic. I didn't feel like biking through a gravel pit again, so I went left at a junction and wound up on a trail called "Surf and Turf." It was super sandy and flowy; the steep sections were awesome as the back end of my bike drifted quite a bit, but I never lost control. I guess that's where having the big downhill tire in the front makes a difference. Once I commited though, it's not like I could stop anyway, so one way or another I'd get to the bottom!

Dude, so freaking jealous. Don't have trails like that in New Orleans. This thread is good as it might help me get off
my butt and start exercising again.

Monday through Friday there is plenty of walking as my job duties shift after the regular year ends. Earlier this evening did another spin class.

Back/shoulder day. I'm getting closer and closer to pulling 300+lbs on the deadlift, which will be a milestone for me. Almost there.

I was on a mission tonight and did 39 km on the bike. Through brute force and ignorance, I was determined to get up to the KVR by any means necessary. Now I've managed my way up two of the trails from Crawford and was always curious about the center one...well it turns out the center one is ***** off steep near the top! There was a lot of hiking, pushing, carrying my bike on my back and quite literally in a few spots dragging it up behind me. My calves were killing me. My thighs were killing me. By the time I reached the KVR I might as well have been freaking Lieutenant Dan!

Once at the KVR it was smooth sailing...took a break at the horse paddock up there before totally making train noises as I crossed Bellevue trestle...things were good...and then I came across three massive puddles! I figured, "Oh yeah...a couple inches maybe! I can totally bomb through them!"

Axle deep. Got half way through the first puddle and stopped dead. Mistakes were made. My hiking boots and socks got thoroughly saturated and soaked clean through!

The ride down the logging road was *****ing awesome. What more can I say? Like the old school cruiser clunken denim sporting chaps back in the 70's that tore down logging roads with coaster breaks, I was grinning the entire way. When it opened up, I felt like I was coming in hot landing a plane; eventually making it back to the house.

^^^ Wow, nice scenery man!

I did 10.16 miles on the trike. The first two miles were pure hell (my legs were really stiff and painful), but then I started to loosen up and things got better.

If I don`t start cramping up too bad, I'm gonna try to do 7-10 miles every other day...

The scenery is one of the reason I do it! I remember the first time I went out...I only made it like a km and a half, lol. It's one of those things that if you stick with it, you get stronger, more coordinated and things gradually get easier.

Do it! The hardest part is getting started, but do it enough and it becomes routine! The thread is great for keeping motivated and keeping a log of some form also helps to keep track of progress.

I must've walked about 5 miles in total when I traveled to a meeting this week so my cardio has been swell since I strolled with the dog two evenings too and might again this eve to get some wine, I've worked out once this week but I did my usual three last week and carried loads of shopping for ages on my way back from the meeting so guess it counts toward it. It's simply too boiling for me to do a workout today, I'm awful dealing with heat so don't want to risk overloading.

im having to stop after ever exercise its getting hard to breathe but i cant tell if im going to have a respiratory problem or its just the exercise
im going to need a resp tx at some point im starting to cough but i only have 9 min left so im going to try to keep going even though i almost puked on the bed

Cycled 24.1 kms.
I bottomed out on one of the suspension type bicycle bridges and bent my left pedal :(
Not to mention I then ran off the side of it
Fun times :D

Ran 10.5 kilometres today.
Ran 10.5 kilometres today.

Since my distance is actually *slightly* longer than 10.5 kilometres, this is actually more than equivalent of a half-marathon (above 21.0975 km)...

It doesn't really count, however, as I went for the first run in the morning and then took a 9 hour break before running again in the afternoon...

Although my overall fitness has probably improved to the point where I can run a half marathon in one setting, I don't carry water with me while running (for now), and 20+ km without water on a sunshiny day would be asking for trouble... So I need to gear up if I want to take it to the next level...

Ok. Monday night. Only had 4 hours of sleep. Too tired to get it on with Shaun in the cardiovascular department, so tonight I'm spending an hour with Tony doing weight lifting from P90x. Tony always cheers me up and he's easy on the eyes. Had my protein shake and protein bar for dinner. Going to get set up.

I made it. Thank you Jesus.
