It's time to spend some time again with Shaun. I didn't do it last night because I had another asthma attack on Tues night that scared me a little because I had to actually stop exercising in the middle of the workout and do another breathing treatment and that almost never happens unless it is bad like that one time that my brother had to come over and help me. (I know that was a long sentence) Anyway, I'm going to try Max Cardio tonight. Had a half of a breathing treatment, so we shall see. Time to set up.....

15 min in and i'm breathing hard but able to take deep breaths thank God. I had to stop for a minute cause I threw up in my mouth. Yuck. Prob from thinking too much today about Hillary. Anyway water and back in.
2130 in and im having to take a break after each exercise. i can breathe ok but im out of breath from the exercise and im really tired. water and back in.
TIME! 833 prob about 45 min for a 30 min workout. I can breathe though. Thank you Jesus. Will try again next time.

Got around 4 miles cardio today, went to buy some more thought scrawling paper and a new sketchpad and some quiche and bagels and also strolled with the dog around the slums and secret passageways, was slacking on the cardio recently so much needed. Due another workout with the weights over the weekend too.

Had a lighter workout today with the weights as my shoulders were still sore from hauling around my art equipment shopping on my 3 and a half mile stroll I conducted the other day. Walked the dog for fifteen minutes earlier too so cardio game is alright this week.

Ladies and Gentlemen...

My first half-marathon!

Image

Actually, a half-marathon is 21.0975 kilometres, according to the official definition from IAAF...

... so I ran approx. 912,5 additional metres just to be sure I made the distance. 8) (and to... well, get *home*)

Anyway, given the time and distance above I ran the half marathon distance at 1:44:46 just inside the 1 hour and 45 minute mark.... Hell, with 14 seconds to spare I could stop, deliver one of George Carlin's best jokes (7 seconds), and still make it before 1:45:00...

... Nowhere near competitive levels, of course, but IMO it's pretty good considering that it was my first half-marathon...

I *seriously* need to buy better compression socks, though... my calf muscles feel like they are going to implode into a black hole...

I have an ambition to shave the time down to 1:30:00 eventually, but that is going to take some *serious* conditioning...

Note to self.
Self when your wife reminds you to start using ear drying drops when swimming - Do So.

Doc Got water said I had water in both ears AND and infection.

Resting for awhile. Was going to spin this morning and wife suggested going to Doc's.

Self listened.

Done two workouts this week, due another on monday and will try to hit three. I've done many miles of cardio this week so I guess it makes up for it but would prefer to hit my usual three 45 minute sessions in addition to plentiful stampedes of glorious cardiosweat.

This is my first post in this thread. Glad to have come across it. : ) 19 months, ago, I moved from the beach to a small town, inland, approx 8 miles from the ocean, so, I started swimming at a local, outdoor pool, a few days per week, as my work schedule prevents me from going to the beach on weekdays. I had been body boarding and paddling almost everyday, prior to moving, and the combo of that and hiking had been the extent of my physical activities. I'd started ramping up my swim workouts in recent weeks, in my efforts to relieve anxiety, and decided I'd make a goal of swimming 2 miles in the ocean. I made my first attempt, today, and swam just over 1 mile.

Usually a slow plodding runner doing 5-10 miles with the occasional HM thrown in. Haven't run for a few months now but inspired by Mo Farah this morning I put my running shoes on and thought I would do a gentle 3 miles as a start and build up the distance over the next 4 weeks. Ended up doing it in 26 minutes which is way quicker than I usually run!

Love running for the fact I am on my own, undisturbed and can just relax and feel myself.
