Mo Farah inspired me this morning.. more than I could possibly have imagined. I think I'll make room for some cardiovascular acivities next month when all the heat in this desert has dried up and I can start building on my carbs..
I'm thinking Tai Chi again, because any Nua sports may limit my posture late in the day.
My mountain bike is weighing on me too, its like pedalling an expensive tandem around and going at a slow 3mph.

Another half-marathon 8)...

Image

This time I was prepared... got myself a set of high quality compression socks (which I ran in after fighting an epic and bloody battle the bards will compose ballads about for ages... to get them *on*) and a pair of compression sleeves (shown above), for post-exercise recovery and comfort... I'll probably keep them on when I sleep tonight...

Anyway, I shaved off 4:42 from my first run at the same distance (at 1:49:17... which I shamelessly braggedwrote about here)... More specifically, I ran 13 seconds faster per kilometre...

... I wonder how my legs will feel tomorrow...

Went for a 10K recovery run today after my latest half-marathon on Tuesday...

This is where a heart rate monitor really comes in handy... Although the trip felt quite easy, I had a slightly higher heart rate today than during my last run... despite running at a *slower* pace... suggesting that I may not have recovered fully yet...

So I guess I should keep taking it slow for a couple of days to avoid overtraining...

I can swim to great lengths in getting everything kosha but at least today, going swimming became less intense and more singular, knowing that I was being watched by half an army of naval cadets probably evoked it more.
If I ever had any doubts before about my femininity, it has been laid to rest.
20 lengths, half breast stroke, half back stroke.
I could lose any amount of body fat at this rate, even when the taste of a double cheese burger appears complete with frappe. I FOUND IT FAINTLY AMUSING that a Clint Eastwood pale lookalike spoke to me about rotation strategy when he was in another lane, the slow lane has its advantages.

Had two short jogs and one decent length walk this week, only one workout with the weights, lunges and sit ups but it was a lengthy one to compensate for missed days. Yoga game is on point in the evenings, trying some harder poses now I have more confidence in my balance, I knocked over a pile of books the other night though as I tried closing my eyes visualizing myself on a high wire above a snapping crocodile pit hehe.

Just came back from the gym and completed leg day. Did squats (just discovered I have butt wink. Gaaah!), deadlifts, and a bunch of back exercises. My form for all my lifts are still a bit bad, but I'm starting feel more 'activation' from my main muscles when I lift.

Went for a 10K run today...

In my brand new Adidas Ultra Boost running shoes 8) :D  :

Image

I almost got a scolding from the store clerk when he saw how worn down the soles on my old shoes were... I didn't really notice the wear and tear myself until I compared them with a new pair of shoes...

Furthermore, even though I had only been running in them since April... they were six years old... So not only were they worn down... both the composition and the technology was ancient...

No wonder my feet felt so sore after running a half-marathon... :skull:

BTW, I ran 15 seconds faster per minute today (ran the 10K in 0:46:38) than my last run on Thursday... with less effort and a lot less strain due to a massive upgrade in cushioning... And they are so comfortable that it almost feels like I'm running *on* them, not *in* them...

Oh... and they are black... 8) As always, the Dark Side is stronger... and gets all the cool lightsabers...

The only downside: A $ 227 price tag... ouch...

Yeah, isn't it! :)

I have an apointment with my physiotherapiest today, feeling a bit nervous about it. There is almost two months since he gave me the exercise routine, and I haven't seen him since then. I want him to check if I'm doing the exercises corectly (the technique)

Had a jog followed by a stroll through the ghetto maze of alleyways yesterday, once by myself to filter down some thoughtcrime then with my dog to pick up some juice and bread. A workout the day before with the weights and sit ups etc. Evening yoga going swimmingly and mental discipline resonating, I tend to use my yoga sessions to prepare for clarity and reinforcement in my mental exercising which is just as vital for progress between the satellite dish and the waves that jiggle around the skull.

I "love" my physiotherapiest. He really tried to motivate me to keep exercising. I hope I have gotten some new motivation.

Another long run in my new cool shoes...

Image

Still haven't cooled down, as evident by the sweat in the above pic...

I ran the full 22K in 1:42:58...

And my half marathon (21.0975 kilometres) time: 1:38:45

... comfortably below the 1:40:00 mark... 8)

Anyway, at this distance good cushioning and shock absorption really starts to make af difference... I probably won't know fully until I've felt my feet and legs tomorrow, but it was most certainly a more pleasant run than in my old worn shoes...

In 1996, I did the Half Marathon in about 1:38.

I ran a 3:49:04 Marathon that year.
