Will not be surprised if the Chinese Olympic Commitee
paid the IOC to keep everything quiet.

It is understandable why China's government
and the Chinese Olympic Commitee are not
giving in to the IOC.

If any evidence is surfaced in the future,
then this could pose a serious problem.

Anyway, a great performance today by USA with not dropping the baton in 4x400 meter relays though the GB archor did taunting which uncalled for. There is a chance that China might fail to 8 for 8 in gold in diving with the USA pair both still in along the 14 year old from Great Britian. USA claims its 12th gold in Decathlon with Byran Clay Silver Medalist in Athens taking the Gold. 12 out 24 of Decathlon Gold Medals belong to the USA.

NBC did show clips from the men's water polo game
against Serbia, which was a surprise.

The US is set to play Hungary for the gold medal.

The 8 for 8 in diving for China was stopped by Australia's Matthew Mitcham winning the Gold over the Chinese.

YAY! the last time an aussie man got gold in diving was 1924.
Matthew scored 112.8 or something like that (he got a few 10s which he needed) with his last dive. FANTASTIC.

we got gold in K1 500m kayak. Won by a lifesaver who didn't know the sport existed 8 years ago. Well done to him.

Keninisse Bekele of Ethiopia won the 5,000 meters, doubling in the 5,000 and 10,000. The last person to accomplish the feat was Miruts Yifter, also of Ethiopia, in 1980. Yifter was the flag bearer for the Ethiopian team this year.

Samuel Wanjiru became the first Kenyan to win the marathon.

Who has been the "star" of this Olympics?

I think Usain Bolt and Michael Phelps.

those are the guys that will be remembered the most me thinks.

what memories will be kept from these games you think?
Steve Hooker winning gold in the pole vault first aussie man in 60 years to do so. after his winning jump his coach jumped the
fence ran over and hugged him. Then Steve had another jump and broke the olympic record.

People will remember the cuban takewando champion. he copped a life ban for belting the referee after he awarded the bronze medal match to his opponent after he took to long getting up after injury time. the rules state you get 1 minute of injury time and that is it. the ref followed the rules.

the dream teams comeback. the softball game between japan and australia that went for 11 innings. supposed to be 7. they had to break the tie.

young australian basketballer Patrick Mills. He is 20 years old, expect to see him in the NBA someday. brilliant performance.

there are many more like the opening and closing ceromony's. those were fantastic.

Must admit at the beginning I was indifferent but they turned out to be memorable.
For Great Britain it was the best Olympics for 100 years.I believe a disgruntled Australian
official said the Brits only win when we're sitting down (cycling, rowing, kayak) :) . That
was disproved with golds in the athletics and swimming. The Chinese organisation was fantastic and I think the genuine friendliness of the people in general shone through. In the women's
Tae Kwon Do the Chinese contestant sportingly conceded that the judges had completely
missed what should have been a winning kick from her British opponent and the result was
overturned.I enjoyed the closing ceremony and I was pleased for Leona Lewis - a couple of years ago she was working in an office before applying for the X Factor and has now sung in front of a global audience.Last but by no means least, the performances of Michael Phelps and Usain Bolt were incredible.

WOW!

The Closing Ceremonies were just as great as
The Opening Ceremonies. Zhang Yimou has one hell of an imagination!

The Routemaster opening up to resemble a boat was so cool!

The Memory Tower's message was right.
Even after the Olympic Flame is extinguished,
the Olympic Spirit will live on in everyone.

After everything was over, I wanted to cry.

Who were the "stars" of the 2008 Olympics?

Michael Phelps
Usain Bolt
Nastia Liukin & Shawn Johnson
Misty May & Kerri Walsh

And many more!

Phelps was the biggest star in the Water Cube along Torres

Shawn and Nastia along with Yang Wei , Johnthon Horton and others in Gymnastics

Usain Bolt, Bryan Clay and other in the Bird Nest

May, Walsh, Dalhusser, and Rodgers are the stars of beach volleyball

I think most of the Americans were stars.

It is still going on and further which is silly, personally I think we should respect the Chinese because they did host the Olympics and all.
