Anyone else have an extreme insensitivity to pain and/or physical discomfort? I have a bad habit of starting to do something that causes some ignorable amount of pain or discomfort.. but after doing it for a while it finally gets to the point where I can't ignore it and it becomes a problem.. some examples:

1) Leaning my knee awkwardly against the side of my car for a few weeks (constant moderate pain/discomfort, but I ignore it), until it compressed the nerve enough that I couldn't walk for more than a few minutes without my knee buckling in extreme pain.

2) Falling asleep in a weird contorted way, causing some mild discomfort during sleep and just after waking up.. but after a few weeks of this I started to have day-long really bad back pain..

3) Repeatedly resting my elbow very hard against the edge of a metal desk.. which I guess hurt but I didn't mind the pain, until one day my fingers were numb and tingly because I gave myself cubital tunnel syndrome from compressing the nerves so much.

Fortunately, except for the last one, everything has been short-term only... Anyone know a way to deal with this sort of thing? I'm in the middle of Googling CIPA to see what people with that condition do so maybe I can adapt their methods or something...
