I have had a long history of frequent, reoccuring and severe ear infections. When I was a around four I had my tonsils and adenoids removed, and it seems like every month after that I went to the hospital for ear tube operations which were not only traumatising but I think ended up doing more harm than good. As a teenager I developed a chronic ear-mastoid infection that required several overnight surgeries, blood and stitches and all that lovely stuff. One doctor said my ear canals were not developing into those of an adult which was unusual for my age at that time. I still have to be careful with my ears, I'm not allowed to get them wet or anything. One time I told someone about my ear problems and they asked if there could be a connection between that and my Asperger's. I honestly don't know. Has anyone else with AS had a lot of problems with their ears?

Me too.

Bethoven used to have ear problems and it's believed that he was autistic.

I had tubes in my ears when I was a little boy and also have worn hearing aids since a teen.
