sticking to diet with a skinny bf
Im haveing real problems sticking to my diet when ever my boyfriend visits. He is very skinny so I dont want to give him the same food as me as he will disapeer, however I do not have much will power so am easily 'seduced' by any 'non diet' food I might give him.
I need to know how to avoid being tempted by my bf's food
any advice welcome
<edit>
some more info.
I do step aerobics 6 days a week and weights every other day. I eat veg, fruit, fish and eggs, no carbs, no fat, no gluten.
Ive exercised for years (Im actually a trained fitness instructor) however Im greedy and over eat easily. I was always slim untill I had my second child at 23 and have been extremely over weight ever since and unable to loose the weight and Im now sadly 31. I loose and gain the same 20 pounds over and over again and never get any where, its very frustrating.
the food I eat for my meals is nearly always healthy, but sometimes when im upset I bindge on crap and more often than that Im tempted by the less restrictive food that my boyfriend eats. So I really need to know some technique for not being tempted by his food when he is eating sat next to me.

Diet food only fools your mind (temporarily), and not your body. In fact it tends to leave your body craving more food. I suggest just making healthy food for both of you, fruit veggies whole grains (unless you have a gluten allergy to worry about) that sort of thing. Watch your portions, but don't poison yourself with "fake" sugar or low fat crap. Your body knows it is a lie.
yes Im eating lots of fruit and veg not processed food.
However my bf will loose weight eating this and needs more fats and carbs to not loose weight.
His tastier foods tempt me, even a tiny bit extra makes me not loose weight.
(eg, I make him veg, fish, pasta and I have just veg and fish but I cant cope and end up eating the pasta too)
I agree that diet foods are worthless - they're just a moneymaking scam. On the other hand, for sheer rapid weight loss, I'd recommend a high protein diet along the lines of Atkins. Pasta is not good for anybody. Nor is white bread. Or potatoes. Eliminate those and you'll start to lose weight, even if you do nothing else.
By the time you've reached your goal weight, though, you should already be firmly entrenched in a vigorous exercise regimen that you must commit to for life Find something you enjoy that keeps your heart rate elevated for a half hour or more and make it a daily routine. If you get enough exercise on a daily basis, you won't need to stick to a 'diet'. You'll burn off enough calories to maintain a healthy size while eating normally.
Dieting willpower is a little tough - sometimes you have to take a running start at it more than once to get up on the wagon and stay there. Maintaining a healthy weight once the dieting has succeeded -that's a lot easier. It really is as simple as creating habits and routines, which for Aspies isn't that hard - and keeping them once they're established is a piece o'cake. Sorry, dirty word.
And having a workout partner makes it even easier. That's where BF can really help you. ![]()

yes, I do exercise but it doesnt make me loose weight I just gain muscle. I eat low carb, low fat diet of just veg, fish, eggs and some fruit. However Im a greedy cow and often fall off the wagon, especially when tempted by my bf's food.
Ive tried stopping him visiting so that I can diet and exercise without temptation but that makes us both sad.
I find it very hard to not eat something if someone is sat next to me eating it.
Its bad luck that I put on weight very easily and cant get it off where as my bf looses weight too easily and cant keep it on, so we are a bad combo for eating together, as since we started dating he has lost weight where as Ive gained it.
Be less hung up on weight, muscle is good for you. It keeps your bones well supported, and also more muscle causes you to burn more calories and incidentally that causes you to burn more fat.
yes Im very fit but Im also fat so need to loose the weight, the weight is not coming off with just being fit and muscley as Im too greedy, i need some solutions to enable me to not be tempted by my boy friends food.
