Any one have a good suggestion for full lengths hiking socks that I can wear in heavy boots w/o tearing up the socks and providing comfort for my feet?

I bought some socks shown in the link below from a retailer earlier in the year, the only reason at the time being that I'd ordered some other gear, and wanted to get the order over the minimum for free delivery. I've worn them quite a few times since on 10 to 20 mile days in the mountains and some hill running, too, and they're holding up well. There's even a 2 year guarantee, although I've not bothered reading the small print as I can't ever see me going to the trouble of returning socks that cost a relatively small sum of money.

Well I have to wear them to work. Yeah I know let me explain, I work for 10hrs a day and needed big heavy boots to protect my feet and now I need better socks because the ones I have are old and getting a little holey :P Anyway thanks but those are a little fancier than what I wanted. I was told to get hiking socks because they would go well with my need etc :/

I happen to like Smartwool socks - they feel and fit great and do make a difference with circulation, which I do with my snowboarding boots.

Smartwool all the way.

They come in a variety of weights. I think "trekking" is their heaviest.

they are a little pricey but the quality is top notch and they will outlast synthetic materials. Not to mention they don't hold smells.

What you can also do is put on a very thin pair of socks on first then a thick pair this is just as effective.
