When i was younger i could hold my breath for the longest of time (not really) for maybe about 40 seconds :)
But then last year i got pneumonia and nobody knew that it was pneumonia until it got really worse when my temperature went to 104F for the whole day and my fever would not go away for days. I got on medication and it went away in a week or two.
This summer I noticed that i run out breath so easily that i cant hold my breath underwater for at least 15 seconds. I only assume it had to do with my pneumonia, what do you guys think? or am i just out of shape....

If you had follow-up Xrays and the lungs were clear then your pneumonia should not be the issue. I would say that if you are not as active now as you used to be it could just be that you are not at the same level of fitness. We get busy and stuff, don't work out as much, as we get older. I also think I could hold my breath a lot longer when I was a kid than I can now. Maybe that is just a common thing as we mature and not really indicative of fitness.
