A while back, I chipped a tooth on some beef jerky, and that tooth is very sensitive. If I chew near the sensitive tooth, it hurts like hell.

What kinds of foods have a texture that is unlikely to exacerbate that tooth's sensitivity?

Breads, soft cheeses, pasta, oatmeal, cooked veggies, tender cooked meats should be OK- I wouldn't try to chew a well-done steak or pork chop. If you want so eat some fruits, banana or orange should be ok, and you can cut up an apple and eat in small pieces. I think I covered all the food groups. Most desserts are soft, like cake, pie and pudding, LOL. You might have some trouble form chips or pretzels and popcorn or nuts. And beef jerky :P

Try to get it fixed if you can, Tim. It might get worse as time goes by.

Why don't you just go to the dentist and see if they can do anything about it. Even though there may not be a cavity there, anything that irritates the nerve can cause a severe case of pulpitis, which can ultimately lead to the death of the tooth, or at least cause you great pain.

Everything got solved with my tooth issue, and I do have sore gums in that area, but it might just be a blister, and I am using Anbesol for it.
