there aren't any adult or adult-sized playgrounds? I really love jungle gyms, slides, and tunnels. I would play on them all the time if I didn't have to worry about squeezing through small holes or bumping my head. For a while, adults were allowed to play in a place in my area called Monkey Joe's. It had blown-up climbing structures and giant slides. They recently changed the rules so that only small children could use the equipment. It's like I'm not allowed to have fun anymore. :( This kind of play is also one of the few types of exercise that I actually enjoy.

I could understand your frustration. I love swings and monkey bars...though I set a bad example for children when I'm on a swing cause I'll jump upon reaching my apex.

Maybe some kind of occupational therapist or something would have it?

There isn't a public park? I've frightened of most play gym equipment but love swings, so I have a swingset.

I take my son to such things and since he has autism I'm allowed to go with him on most of these things and ditto for the sensory toys I'm allowed to show him multiple times how they work.

The equipment is too tiny! The swings aren't, though. I swing for about half an hour every day.

No, you aren't. That would be awesome, adult playgrounds.

You could start the trend you know... the general public would love that.

My neighborhood has a park and I can still play on it fine (and I am fat).

However all I really care about is swinging.

Join a club with those obstacle courses like you see in the military?

I don't know, but that does sound fun doesn't it. It has been a long time since I last hanged upside down from the monkey bars. :)

sounds like an extension of our Asperger's mansion thread,

http://www.wrongplanet.net/postt135215.html (nice thread, pls ignore the zoological/social implosion about Suricata suricatta)

ohhhh - i love adventure parks, with fortresses and pirate ships and tarzan swings ( i don't know the proper english term, but they run across a valley from tree to tree and you woosh along a steel rope holding only a handlebar attached to the rope by a wheel - somebody tell me the name for the thing, pleease, )

do you mean these things?

and then there were the ones, where children actually built their own equipment ( bruises, cut fingers and broken arms included - in the 70s they had not yet heard of litigation and health and safety, )

definitely yes, i would love to crawl all over the woods and build tree houses and swing and and and ...

I think playgrounds for adults is a great idea.

Most indoor playgrounds are for children under 12, it would nice if there was one for older people, Once, I was playing at an indoor playground when I was little and I went on this pulley thing, and there was a raised area where you could stand and grab the pulley, and I was able to do that, but the thing stopped when I was on my way down and I got stuck in the middle, my feet wouldn't reach the ground! So being too slow can be a problem too!

I still sometimes go to public parks, I can still fit in most of the equipment.

I once saw teenagers on a ride at the mall for little kids! I hope they could get out!

I don't like those McDonald's playgrounds. I never went on them ever again after I was told that they are covered in germs. Those ball pits are the most dangerous of all indoor playground things.

I can't say I'm upset about it, but I was never into playground apparati. My outdoor recreation is dirtbike riding (since 12 or 13), and luckily that's an all-age sport.

I hate that swing parks have an age limit of 12 :( so I sometimes get asked not to play on them, even if it's schooltime and there's no kids there. I love swings :)
