Since last thursday, I've lost 11 lbs. I've just been eating better and having a yogurt every morning.

I've also been taking my diuretic so I have a feeling that all the weight has been water weight that I'm flushing down the toilet.

Just wondering if the yogurt and eating better is contributing. Also, taking a diuretic like I am, the effects are going to wear off soon (the peeing excessively) so I'm afraid that I'll start gaining again once the diuretic stops doing what I like it to do.

Since you suspect that this is just water weight, it may all come back anyway. Does your doctor have you on a diuretic? Maybe you could start exercising mildly, just to raise your metabolic rate. Then you would perhaps continue to lose weight. I wouldn't rely on a diuretic long term, since it is better to change the way you eat. Less sodium and salted foods for starters.

I would be REALLY cautious about taking a diuretic-
your body can begin to retain more fluid to counteract it,
and this can start and continue indefinitely AFTER you stop taking it:

If there is a generalized edema or water retention, there is an underlying medical cause which must be addressed.

The best way to stop retaining water is to drink more.

How much water do you drink?

About 4 cups a day.

There's water in soda, right? (j/k!)

As I suspected, the HCTZ stopped draining me of fluid as of today. My weight remains steady at 297. Now I guess I need to step up the work outs. Need to join a gym or something.

You're supposed to drink eight a day.
