What happens with low muscle tone in the lower face?
But that I mean what exactly is low muscle tone in the lower face? Is it something to do with your jaw? Is it something to do with your appearance? Does it affect the way you talk? I'm not sure if I have low muscle tone or not. I can't seem to whistle, I can only whistle sucking in air, not blowing out air (not sure if that's anything to do with having low muscle tone or not). I sometimes struggle to shut my mouth, and I always wondered if it was because of my two front teeth, but the dentist said they don't stick out at all and are perfectly straight, so I wonder if I have a weak muscle in my lower face. When I shut my mouth, I always look like I'm sulking (you know, that look people make when they stick out their chin or bottom lip when they sulk) - but I'm not sulking, it's just me holding the muscle there to keep the mouth shut, because I don't like to have it open. Also I struggle to eat with my mouth closed. My mouth seems to get fuller and fuller with air when I eat with it closed, then I end up swallowing it with the food, but I'm not sure if that's got to do with having low muscle tone or not.
But I hate having low muscle tone (if this is what it is) because it makes me look ugly when I close my mouth. Does anyone else have this problem, or do you know anyone else with this problem? It makes me self-conscious, and I've been looking through all the reasons why people in the street look at me as they pass, and I've been through all my physical features and have found no faults or differences so far, so now I'm on to the way I shut my mouth, and wondering if this is the reason why people stare as they walk past.
Can having weak muscle in my lower face be sorted?
