I have lost 25 pounds or so, but can't seem to lose any more. It's been like that for several months. I have made several mistakes that temporarily caused my weight to go up, like eating a bottle of something called "agave nectar" after my mom saw it on a talk show, she didn't research it first and it causes weight gain and tooth decay, so we didn't order any more, but I gained 12 lbs temporarily just from that. I think that the mistakes are holding me back, like the time I bloated after putting too much salt on a piece of meat. Any suggestions, other than "avoid stupid mistakes"? I lost the initial weight so fast that I figured my body was just resting for a while.

Agave nectar is good for you. It's just that drinking the whole bottle is like scarfing down a whole bottle of honey. That much sugar will surely cause you to gain weight.

That said, perhaps you should mention what kind of diet you are on. What kind of diet you are on affects what advice people might give you. Someone on an Atkins diet would not be able to eat agave in the first place, for example, while someone on WW would (but not that much o_o). Does your diet include exercise?

I just eat healthy. I'm not on any specific diet. I eat some meats and some carbs. Every so often I might have a little powdered sugar, plain. No fast food of any kind, no chocolate (I'm allergic). I eat maybe a steak one day, then eat very little food for the next day or two while my body processes it. I get "overload" if I eat too much at once.

@prezer blood sugar management is a important aspect to weight loss. If you don't manage your blood sugar then you will have fluctuations which will increase fat stressing hormones such as Cortisol and adrenaline. You need to eat more often, skipping meals is going to hold you back. Remember it's get healthy lose weight not lose weight get healthy. Hope that helps.
