I am going on holidays soon, and also afterwards to my prom, so I need to lose my belly fat fast, but alos I need to keep it off. I don't have a lot of it thankfully. My dress for prom is tight enough already, I don't need it any tighter.

Please help me?

Thanks. :)

I am trying to regain belly fat lost by my little exercise regime I started to relieve anxiety. Basically: start working toward the goals listed in the U.S. Army physical fitness standards chart, only the push-ups though. I didn't even do the sit-ups and running. I started out being able to do half a push-up and within two months could do 12ish. Also I started doing wall-stands (handstands against the wall) kind of for fun cause straight "work" exercise bores and depresses me and also I hoped that this would increase circulation of blood to the brain, which I heard (maybe from a non-scientific source) alleviates depression. Anyway the physical exercise makes me feel better and this routine within two months took away belly fat which I actually did not want to lose. But if you're looking for a healthy regime to lose it, that's it. That and kickboxing-type stuff without a bag, which I haven't done in a while but doesn't seem to affect belly fat since I still do push-ups and wall-stands whenever I'm anxious. This all sounds ridiculous I know but I was too severely depressed at the time to actually get out of the house and run around with my dog at the park like usual so I needed a way to lessen my depression through physical exercise without leaving my house.

Do light cardio for about 1-2hours four days a week, depending on your particular level of endurance. Riding a bike, running, or using an elliptical will do the trick. Try to space out the days so you're only doing 1-2 days of exercise in between rest days. It's very important to insert the rest days strategically to prevent fatigue and injury. Your heart rate shouldn't go above 140 beats per minute. Eat less protein and fatty foods, but make sure you take in enough carbs to have enough energy to exercise. I usually like to eat simple sugars (fruit) one hour before I exercise. The day before I exercise, I try to eat some complex carbs like pasta and whole grain bread. You can also try doing some pilates or other core-strengthening exercises to tone your abs.

I know some "experts" like to say you should eliminate carbs if you want to loose weight, but this is complete BS. If you avoid carbs, your body will become easily fatigued after you exercise and you will fail. Eventually, you will need to start eating carbs again, at which point you'll gain the weight back. Avoid all those diets that you see advertised. They're just trying to sell you something. I myself am at a healthy weight because I eat a balanced diet and I exercise four days a week. I don't believe in gimmicks and diet books.

Suck in the part of your belly that sticks out up under rib cage. Hold in for count of 10, repeat. Repeat doing little pulses.
I got this from a Barbara Currie yoga DVD.
Do ab exercises in general.

You could get support underwear and stand with better posture for an instant fix.
Eat healthily and cut out desserts and snacks and exercise in general.

Oh. Something I originally should have posted is that I think belly fat is appealling and wish I had more of it at the present moment. So don't go changing unless you want to do it for yourself, rather than to be "acceptable" by some standard.

The best thing you can do, is set a long-term goal, because trying to lose any weight in a short time like 2-3 weeks is both dangerous, and just about impossible. If you do manage to lose any, and it's not going to be more than a few pounds, you will very likely add it back on plus more. This is because your body has an anti-starvation instinct, which causes a crash diet to result in making you crave more food, which causes more fat storage. That way, if we were still cave people, and you had the crash diet because of an unstable food source, you would be better prepared for next time with more body fat to use in reserve.

How about setting a realistic goal now, which would be something like eating basically the same as you have been, but cut the portions by 10 or 20 percent. It is virtually guaranteed that after a few months, and indeed after a year, you will have lost a significant amount of body fat WITHOUT losing lean muscle tissue, or triggering your body's anti-starvation instinct.

I'm skinny but have some flab, and callanetics really did wonders for me. It's like a mix of ballet and yoga, very gentle and relaxing. Not easy, but you can see results really quickly. It's mostly for shaping your body though, you lose flab and extra fat, but you don't lose any weight. There are tapes/DVDs on Amazon or Ebay, also on torrents... It's from the 80s, so be prepared for lots of leotards and dated music. Some people really hate that, but I don't mind at all. I also like that it doesn't make your muscles look bulky, but elongated and nice. I was always told you can't target just a particular spot, but it was all lies :P When I was looking for info on callanetics I found this thread on some random forum, and I think it was what really convinced me to try it out.

Whether you find it appealing or not, belly fat increases your risk of heart attack, stroke and cancer.

Ask any bodybuilder how to get cut and they will tell you the same thing: Lean MEAT PROTEIN and vegetable fiber. Avoid carbs like the black death. Do not allow potatoes or bread in any form into your home. Drink lots of water. You will drop it like its hot (weight, not the water).

Also, a vegetable stew made with: Cabbage, celery, scallions (green onions), tomatoes, green bell peppers and onion soup mix is delicious and acts as a natural purgative, flushing out the system while it burns calories.

I mean belly fat within healthy range. The difference between a gymnast's physique and your average healthy person with some curves' physique.

I felt it important to say that because girls have it drilled into them that this or that kind of fat is not acceptable on the beach or at a social event where they need to "look good" or whatnot. Yes there are levels of overweight that are cause for medical concern but there are those that aren't and that culture still makes people feel "bad"and "wrong" for possessing and that's pointless and backwards bad-feeling-making that contributes to widespread low self-esteem and other mental health concerns among girls and women.

In the minds of many people the way to lose belly fat is by doing more exercises to lose stomach fat. Some even thing that by doing crunches and sit-ups they will be able to get a flat stomach or even a six pack. This is wrong and by doing so you only lose your time. The best way on how to lose stomach fat is not through ab exercises but through a careful diet that will help you eliminate fat from the whole body and exercises that will contribute in losing weight and fat from all body areas and not just the stomach. There are no diet programs or exercises that can target fat in the stomach alone but instead by reducing the proportion of fat from the body will eventually give you a flatter stomach.

Burn more calories than you take in. Pace and fidget constantly. Run around your home while climbing on furniture and jumping on a matress. Climb the trees in your backyard if you have any. These are the kinds of things I do on a near-daily basis. But I'm not trying to lose any belly fat.

best advice here. If you want it you're better working for it. The cross trainer/ elliptical is something i like in particular, you can easily switch off and listen to your music or whatever while you're doing it and i find that it makes me sweat the most out of anything. Just do it regularly and keep it up for 3 weeks, you'll be surprised by how much of a difference it'll make. Don't delay, just get going with it asap, if you carry on just sitting there thinking about it the 3 weeks will be up and it'll be too late.
