Media, TV News ....
Hi,
here in Germany the TV News today had a topic about the Burnout Syndrom. Some famouse people got ill with burnout and now some specialists found out that burnout is a real big topic, too long kept under the blanket.
Now, the TV news was talking about that who thinks having a burnout issue, should go asap see a doc. Well, what they do NOT talk about is the situation here with our health system... if you go to your regular medical doctor, he/she will tell you to go to xyz spychiatrist with this burnout issue. Well ... next you call a specialist to make up an apointment alright. But the desk helper tells you that the next open date will be in 4 to 6 month - depends... In my case I got an appointment 6 month in the future! Whereever you try in which city or county you tell me, the situation is the same! There are just not enough specialists around, so they have a looooong waiting list with waiting periode of 4 to more to 6 month!
I just do not get it! The TV news and as well paper news is talking about an issue just showing one side, just do not mention what else is linked to that problem!
WHo is not very close to sueside, will not get any closer date to see a psychiatrist! So how to get close help from a brain specialist when you need it?!??? Oh yes! I think I will get ill in 6 month, I may get ill with xyz and need to have to see a specialist! I can see into the future! Yes, thats soooo greate!
So, we got two problems: 1. is the media is telling just half of the BS and 2. the part that has to change is up to the government health system! Politicians have to change the system, but somehow they just don't! I don't know if they do not see it or what else blocks them to change something!
