The top 3 college football teams in the US this week are:
3. Arkansas
2. Alabama
1. LSU
All three teams are not only from the same conference, but the same division of the same conference—SEC West.
LSU is undefeated. Alabama’s only loss came at the hands of LSU, and Arkansas’ only loss came at the hands of Alabama. To top it off, LSU and Arkansas will close the regular season next Friday when the Tigers face the Razorbacks in Baton Rouge. Last year, the Razorbacks won “the battle of the boot” by a score of 31 to 23. This year my beloved Hogs may not have it so easy…
…of course last time Arkansas met a #1 ranked LSU in 2007 Arkansas did win by 2 points after 3 overtime periods!

Correct me if I am wrong, but didn't the 2007 team have Darren McFadden and Felix Jones? And they ran for like 250-300 yards? I do not see how they get through the LSU defense this time.
In the FCS, my school was in the CAA, and one time last year there were 8 teams in the Top 20 of the polls (in a 12 team conference). I am still bitter over the FCS National Championship where we lost to a team that should not have been on the same field as us. I was screaming at the top of my lungs at the end I was so angry.

Yes and to be fair, U of A has a completely different offensive philosophy these days... ranked 10th in passing and 72nd in rushing.
By contrast, LSU is 103rd in passing and 21st in rushing.
The Razorbacks have an incredible passing game and on a good day they can beat anybody. However, this season they've had the habit of slacking off in the first half and then scoring ridiculous amounts of points to come from behind and win in the second half.
Obviously they cannot get away with this against the likes of LSU, but if they come into the game and play every down, I think they have a chance.

My Ducks could be #1 if they didn't mess up so much. Sure, LSU is a great team but the Ducks had 4 turnovers during their match-up (2 of which came from a rookie). Plus, had LaMichael and Kenjon Barner not been injured for much of the 3rd and 4th quarters, the Ducks could've at least tied it up, if not take the lead. Likewise, the USC game pissed me off so much. Where the heck was that offense earlier in the game?
They'll likely play in the Rose Bowl but they really could've had a second shot at LSU, a great team but still, a very beatable team.

The Hogs have benefited from the bad breaks of several teams last week, OSU, OU, Oregon.
At the same time, they’ve been able to get away with a lot of sloppy play this year.
I gotta give it up to LSU and Alabama this season. Both teams have been doing it, and doing in consistently well all year. In my opinion, they have earned their spots at the top. As for the U of A, well, they have a chance. Friday they’ll have to put-up or go home.
Last week my Razorbacks were #6. This week they’re one good game away from a shot at the national championship.
This is what one good game looks like:

Here’s a bit of irony...
In the best case, Arkansas could win a national championship but they’d still finish second in the SEC—now, that’s what you call a tough conference! ![]()

I think LSU is too good at creating turnovers. Plus, their special teams are great from what I saw, especially against Alabama. I am giving the edge to LSU for my first sentence this paragraph.

They better be in the Rose Bowl because of who they are going to play in the Pac 12 Champ. if they make it.
This is why I feel we need a playoff. Oregon came out flat the first week and lost a very winnable game against USC, and Wisconsin somehow lost 2 football games despite being far and away the best team in the Big Ten. Boise State did not even win its conference (again) and will go to like the Humanitarian Bowl because of their conference. Do not even get me started on the West Virginia Chokes Conference (seriously, they should have won it like 5 years in a row!! !) and its BCS bid. While I am mad about the atrocious NC loss last year, I feel it is more fair than bigwigs keeping all the money for some exclusive bowl no one else can get into.
My one roommate was from Auburn and he liked watching LSU football because of the escapades of a Les Miles team (clock management, etc.). Sometimes an LSU win defies reality in some ways. Just an aside.
