Who is your team and what do you think the outcome(s) will be over the next few weeks?

As a Giants fan I will be rooting for a repeat of 2007 and being the underdog. I know the Packers, Saints, and Patriots are the heavy favorites.

The Baltimore Ravens is my team, and I believe they will at least make it to the AFC Championship game as Baltimore has beaten 3 of the 4 teams playing in the wild card game; the exception being Denver which has dropped its last 3 games. I am hoping New England gets shocked in the 2nd round, but I am not counting on it.

As for the NFC, I believe Green Bay's offense would overcome their defensive woes to carry the Packers into the Superbowl. While the 49ers may slow down their high powered offense, I do not see Jim Harbaugh's offense being able to score enough points in the end. Though I prefer them winning if they met in the championship game since Baltimore is capable of beating the 49ers again.

I know that the game I really want to see is Ravens-Patriots in the AFC championship game.

And I don't think SF has the nuts to get to the Super Bowl but if they can it could make for a really wild matchup, I want to see a monster defense against a first-rate offense and there are a huge amount of combinations that could make that happen.

In a dome I think the most exciting matchup that could happen for the Super Bowl would be the Ravens and the Lions. I don't think that will happen though, if I had to guess it would be the Ravens and Packers with the Packers winning.

And the most exciting thing that could possibly happen would be Big Ben Roth hobbling to the Super Bowl on his crippled ankle, but especially with Mendenhall gone that's almost out of the question.

On paper the Saints are the most dangerous team, but I doubt they can win in Green Bay.

edit: I should have qualified, I am a Seahawks fan, so I can be pretty objective in this whole thing

I am a born and raised New Orleanian. I have seen our team at its worst. Heck, I have seen out city at its worst.
All I know is one thing, whether they are the "blessed Saints" or the old-school "'aints" There will only ever be room in my heart for they who showed us that even an underdog can have his day!

Go Saints all the way! Saints go all the way!

That said, I think the Packers are looking really good so far. I don't think they'll go down easily. Drew's gotta be on his best to make this work.

Balto is my team.

I think that as long as Harbaugh can refrain from making Flacco throw too much and remember they have a run game they'll be fine.

I'm hoping for a Ravens-Packers Super Bowl.
I'd love to watch the Packers offense against the Ravens "wicked" Defense.

My only concern is the Steelers. The odds of going 3 for 3 aren't the best. I think the Ravens can pull it off, especially with Ben hurt. But I'm still not thrilled about the matchup.

The one game I am kind of fearful about is Lions-Saints. The Lions are so dirty on defense, I'm afraid Brees is going to get hurt.

I mentioned to someone that I would like to see the Texans, the Ravens and/or the Saints in the Super Bowl this year.

I know it might not happen, but I would like to see the Texans and the Saints play for the Vince Lombardi trophy. I watched their meeting in the regular season and both Matt Schaub and Drew Brees were really productive for their respective teams. Heck, the lead changed hands about three or four times before the Saints kept it for their win. Now, with Schaub gone for the year, I have to wonder if T.J. Yates will lead the Texans to the promised land...

And you're right, GreyGirl. With the Lions defense, heralded by Ndamukung Suh (I can't spell his first name), Brees might have a tough time exploiting them. At the same time, the Saints defense will likely hold Stafford, Johnson & Co. to little offensive production.

Brees will pass with ease on the Lions secondary...its not good at all...this is the same Lions defesne last week that gave up 6 tds and 480 yards to Matt Flynn. It should be close...I see Saints winning 38-31. something along those lines. Texans have an underappreciated defense, but i think they are just happy to be in the playoffs this year with all the injuries they sustained. Bengals can win that game, but I dont see them going far as well. Of all the wildcard teams, Pittsburgh and the Giants have the best shots at going deep in the playoffs. Combination of veterans and getting hot at the right time.

My fear for Brees is that he will be injured by Suh and the Lions dirty "D". I don't doubt Brees chances for success against them. I just know that the Lions are dirty and seem to get more so when frustrated by a talented opponent.

I don't know..Suh is on a short leash right now...if he does anything that is even remotely seen as Dirty and unbecoming a professional, Roger Goodell will come down hard on him and the Lions...After the BS he pulled on national television during Thanksgiving, he better be on his best behavior. I think Brees has the speed to get out of the pocket where Suh usually gets his sacks from, so I don't him being much of a factor in that game. Saints are a great team in that dome. I don't see how they lose that game unless Brees has one of those uncharacteristic 4 int games.

I want to see Saints-Packers in the NFC Championship, they are playing the most exciting football these days. I wish Shaub hadn't gone down, with him quarterbacking the Texans might have gone at least to the AFC Championship. The Steelers and Ravens play boring football, not to mention Flaco sucks. Ratburger is definately the better quarterback of the two and if they met again, the Ravens aren't going to win three against the Steelers this season.

Hoping Giants give Patriots really good game in the Super Bowl.

=========================

And the 49ers-Saints game 36-32 last week was a just great game. I think a case could be made that it was every bit as good a game as the Oakland Raiders vs. Miami Dolphins "Sea of Hands" game following the 1974 season, and the San Diego Chargers vs. Miami Dolphins "Epic in Miami" game following the 1981 season.
