I have been finding it very hard to go back into my strict healthy diet again, so I have decided to do small swaps instead. The first thing I did was that I swapped coffee and tea for the decaf versions instead, and on average I try to have one cup in the morning of decaf coffee, and then one cup of decaf tea after lunch, and then sometimes if I need a hot drink, I usually have decaf tea in the evening.

I just want to know what is the health benefits of having no caffeine in my diet everyday, especially for a Aspie? :) :) :)

I'm a life long coffee drinker. The strong, brewed kind. Also, black tea in afternoon. I was having bad anxiety problems and started to notice how the coffee really got it going for me. I switched to full de-caf but then I felt sleepy all day and drank 6 cups instead of one or two, looking for the kick. Now I'm on 2/3 decaf and 1/3 regular and this helps me wake up but not get anxious.

So to answer your question more directly, less caffeine = less anxiety. At least for me.

I think people that drink a lot of caffeine mask their fatigue due to malnutrition.

how would it mask malnutrition? by boosting allertness?
i suspect caffeine plays only a small role in that but i do think it allows people to push themselves/be pushed further than is maybe healthy. well if they are chronic drinkers and work crap hours etc.

Exactly.

I've worked 2 jobs(working 7 days a week) while up-keeping a household that was being rented out(a fixer-upper) while doing the P90X regimen.

No caffeine required. If I was fatigued, I needed to eat more.

I find the less crap things like caffine and sugar and fat, the more hyperactive I get.

I don't drink coffee or black tea and I only drink green tea by using the same leaves multiple times. Most of the time I stick to caffeine-free herbal teas (peppermint or fruit tea). And a tin of coca cola every now and then.

If I get too much caffeine anxiety becomes really heavy and I cannot sleep. And for me it doesn't make a difference... that is, I'm sleepy in the morning with or without caffeine.
