My rampant insomnia has caused me to have terrible discolored under-eye bags, and I have some frown lines already. Can anybody relate? I look terribly unhappy(I am), depressed(I am), and maybe mentally unstable. Part of my reasons for feeling this way is my loneliness, but for my own sake in improving that, it is imperative that I don't look that way if I want to make a good impression on people.

How do I get rid of these? Can anybody help?

You could try these two methods in the thread below, you might find they reduce your circles over time.

I have blue eyeglasses that I wear to reduce brightness, but nobody would see if I had (and probably have) eye bags. They are tinted 10% blue and I keep them on inside too. Optometrists are a pain about coloured glasses - I order mine on-line.

I'm feeling the same way myself, thanks to sleep issues, stress and some other health issues. It sucks. The best I can say is to eat a good balanced diet with plenty of veggies and lean protein and take a multivitamin, fish oil and a good probiotic on a daily basis. This will at least help you to look as healthy as possible given the circumstances. For many people, a good diet and supplements can help with depression and insomnia, too. Sometimes being difficient in vitamins and minerals can cause dark undereye circles, so that can just make matters worse. It's all inter-related.

I would actually go so far as to get tested to see if you have any food intolerances that could be making you sick. I feel so much better since I've stopped eating yeast and dairy. Soy and gluten are really common for people as well. But as always, watch your diet, eat only nutritious foods, and drink plenty of water.

Also are you seeing a doctor about your insomnia? Maybe you could get something to help you fall asleep at night. I know Melatonin can be helpful for some people, and it is a natural neurotransmitter found in your brain so you'd merely be introducing more of it. Set a bedtime at the same time every night, or plan to wake up at the same time every morning- that works better for me. Also don't be afraid to catch up on sleep if you have the time.

One last thing? Eye cream. I've been told I look more awake since I've started using it. Mine is from Burt's Bees. That's all I can think of for now! I hope you begin to feel better soon! :)
