Because the rec soccer league is full and after 8 years, I've decided to give softball another try thanks to my friend who plays the sport. Since I don't want to deal with the stricts commitments of the high school team, I'm joining the rec team with her. The problem is that the highest league it goes up to is U15, so this is the last year I can do it for rec. I also can't find out the ages for adult softball either. Does anyone know how my friend and I can find another team for when we're 16?

You could always play rec for this year, then next year join the high school team. You see if the sport is a good fit, and get some practice and experience in the rec league, then you'll be more prepared for the high school league. Just a thought.

Other than that, it sounds a bit obvious, but your best bet would be to check your town's park and recreation department's little brochure or whatever, and see if there's an adult women's softball league, just the adult league, if you're not good with adults (I have the opposite problem, I feel much more comfortable around adults than people my own age) you're gonna have issues being 16 and on an adult women's team where most people are over like...age 25. One last very very small possibility, is some churches play softball recreationally, but most don't have women's leagues, so yeah.

Your last option for rec league is just contact Little League.

Call them up and find out where the closest rec league that allows up to 18 to play is, you might have to do a fair amount of driving, though, or it might be the town next door.

Softball probably will be pretty fun, I remember baseball was as a kid.
