Yes, being happy instead of sad and having a sense of being needed will likely lead to you living longer. I'd be willing to bet that if they did the same research on older people who are still in regular contact with their family but not religious they would have the same results

True being happy is the whole point of living a long life they would get the same resluts but religious people are not as affected with anxiety. You do no thave to be religious to be spiritual.

I am a big believer in collective mind... When people around you feel good, you feel good...
I also believe, when you pray for someone or something, small miracles do happen
