Does anyone know of an assistance program in PA, near Harrisburg, that I can get mental health evaluation/treatment for little to no cost

Look in the local phone book, in the government pages, under Mental Health. The government mental health clinics usually offer a sliding fee scale based on your income. If you have no income you can get Medicaid, and that will cover your medical costs. I finally managed to qualify for Medicaid through a depression diagnosis, even though my other health problems are more of a problem for me. But hey, what ever it takes to get the coverage. I went to a government mental health clinic for approximately a year for therapy after that, with Medicaid picking up the cost. I am unemployed due to my other health problems. Once I had Medicaid, I was able to get treatment for my other problems, and eventually qualified for disability due to them. After about a year of therapy, the therapist said I didn't need it any more. I don't think I needed it at all in the first place, except for help to get qualified for Medicaid and disability. I didn't like the therapist anyway. I was taken to many different psych docs and therapists as a child, and hated it, so I am not a good candidate for therapy. However, some people are helped by it. So check out the phone book, and if you need Medicaid you can get a Medicaid voucher for a first visit to a doctor for a diagnosis if you are very low or no income. Once you have a qualifying diagnosis you will then be able to get Medicaid. The voucher pays for that first visit.
