I picked up a copy of The Insanity Workout because I am looking to lose the weight I gained the past couple years and get back to being healthy like I was in high school. I've already set up my dietary plan and my calender for some intense sessions. I want to know if anyone else had success doing Insanity or if I'm making the right choice. Is there somethings I need to watch out for during my two month journey? Any tips to make my workouts fulfilling to the maximum?

The first exercise is really hard. There's a lot of jumping and trying to hit your elbows with your knees.

I quit after that.

I own p90x. Honestly, They're really good workouts made by beachbody. I personaly however cannot motivate myself to work out at home. Once my night shifts are done am goind back to my 5x5 routine.

All am saying is you really have to go for it and have the dedication or you may as well lift weights at the gym to lose weight.

I got interested in Insanity when I saw that I didn't need to buy any extra equipment, especially since the pull up bar couldn't latch on without breaking off my wall (I live in a home that's falling apart). I also enjoy a difficult challenge, which it's perfect. The only bad thing is giving up caffeinated drinks. Starbucks is gonna become my best friends for my caffeine fix. Lol

I'm a regular Insanity user and it works. I have lost about 10 pounds since the beginning of September, and that's not counting the increased muscle mass in my core and legs.

It's great for cardio and stamina building and really strengthens your legs. I pair it up with my daily sessions of basketball at the YMCA. It can get a bit repetitive but I find it to be one of the most effective workouts to quickly drop fat.

The longer you do it the easier it will become. The first month's workouts will start to be really easy for you after you start getting into month 2's workouts.

Sweet! I'm unfortunately out of shape, but I do miss my tennis days. Might pick that up again. :)

Keep at it. If there are some exercises you can't do, you can either try something similar but easier or substitute it with something you can do. I still can't really do push ups so a lot of the plank position workouts are really hard for me. (Also because my arms are shorter than average)

Within a week or two you will start to see improvements in your stamina and the strength in your legs. The power jacks/globe/frog jumps killed me at first but now I can do them with relative ease.

I plan to. I'm starting plyometric cardio in a couple hours after my dinner settles. I felt great after the first exercise, so I'm ecstatic to see what I'll look like after these 60 days :)

So, here's a question: what would you guys and gals recommend for a good recovery formula after I work out? I was looking into the Gatorade recovery and some beachbody formulas, but I want to see what would be the best choice.

Mint iced tea. With or without sugar. Go to a store and buy either mint tea bags, or just a big bag of mint (I bought 200g of mint for like $2 at my Indian market) and make tea. It cools you down. Don't drink it while not working out, as you'll just be tired, but working out, it offsets the heat you create for some reason.
