So, this is kind of gross lol, but I figure it can't hurt to ask. When I exercise, I sweat very profusely. Basically so much so that unless I'm wiping my brow once every 30 seconds to a minute, I'll start "dripping" it gets into my eyes. Not to mention my clothes getting all sticky/nasty, but that's more to be expected. I'd say it's the #1 thing I dislike about working out, because I just feel miserable and disgusting the whole time because of it! Does anyone know if there's any way to limit how much you sweat? Obviously I don't want to cover my whole body in antiperspirant or anything silly like that! But maybe something related to diet or workout style?

What's your current fitness level/body composition like?

If you're overweight or obese, you might just have to sweat it out.. Literally.

When I was overweight and in terrible cardio health I would sweat quite a lot doing exercise. I also ate fast food and junk food and all kinds of spicy ethnic foods, so I'd smell when I sweat and would need to take a shower asap after doing any exercise/physical labour.

Ever since I've become much leaner, I barely sweat at all. I also eat pretty clean, too, so when I do sweat I don't stink. Yeah, I can still get a bit smelly and want to go take a shower, but I don't stink and need to take a shower.

I'm not a doctor, but I'm an experienced athlete... My opinion is that it's "normal" for some people to sweat more than others. As long as you're not getting dehydrated, I can't see anything wrong with it. If you are getting dehydrated, you might want to talk to a doctor to see if your electrolytes are balanced right, or if there is any kind of condition you might have, that would be causing excess sweat alongside other symptoms you might not see. Probably nothing wrong though... Even things like ethnicity can affect sweating. Central European-descent people tend to sweat a lot more than those whose ethnicity originates in hotter climates like the Mideast, Africa, and South America.

As far as what to do about it while exercising, I wear a bandana, or you can wear a head band, and keep a fan on, etc.

Or switch to swimming.. You'll still sweat, you just won't notice it. Just gotta be careful you don't get dehydrated by overdoing it and not realizing just how much you're sweating.
