About four days ago, I suffered a very bad concussion while I was playing rugby. The team we were playing had little to no skill, so they just resorted to cheap shots and violence to get the good players out of the game. Unfortunately, I was probably the second or third person out of eight to get taken out, and probably one of the more serious ones. I sustained a kick to the back of my head, and had to be taken to the hospital via the ambulance.

They did a CT scan on me and didn't notice anything too concerning, but they said problems would likely arise after a few days. I'm just on Tylenol to manage my pain and headaches, but it's barely enough to keep me from crying.

Lately I've been even less sociable than I originally was to begin with, extremely lethargic, irritable to the point of snapping, pretty much no coordination, and my headaches are just getting worse by the hour. I know I'm going to be fine, but there's a small part of my brain that's telling me something might be wrong even though they said I would be fine. I guess I'm just posting this because I'm a little bit worried.

Are you sure? Aside from the headache I've had the same symptoms for a while.

It is worrisome that the symptoms have not gone away. Do not worry about the falling asleep part too much.

There is high concern if your symptoms are getting worse. Increased drowsiness and irritability are signs that your concussion is not mild especially with a persistent severe headache. With the coordination trouble, and worsening symptoms you do need to see a doctor now (have someone take you to the hospital). Also think if you have had dizziness, slurred speech, or vision distortions.

You might be perfectly fine, but there are several very bad things that could be wrong, so be safe, go to the doctor. After 4 days you should not be having the trouble you are having.

Makayla, Fnord and I have our differences on things. He and I are in agreement on this. You need to get to the doctor now. You're suffering from a major concussion. You don't need to be screwing around on this. You could have a major brain injury. Please, go to the doctor NOW!! !! !

A major concussion or any concussion for the matter is a serious brain injury. You won't be feeling normal for awhile. But yeah, you should go to a doctor as soon as possible. You can never be too safe when it comes to your brain.

I agree, it could be a fairly serious issue and should be checked out asap.

Okay, saw my doctor yesterday. She said I was still fine.

She said: "It's going to get worse before it gets better, so just keep taking it easy."
