I never hunted but I love target shooting. My husband has gone hunting once and didn't care for it, and my oldest son used to go a lot but he never got a deer. The only deer he ever got was one he accidentally hit with the car. I don't think I would do well hunting, I'm not good at being still and quiet. My son was getting into bow hunting for a while but he doesn't bother with that anymore either.

Although I did once interview Ted Nugent when I worked for that little newspaper, and he's a big hunter.

I'm more of a gatherer.

I don't hunt, but my son and ex does.I have helped dress out tons of deer.I'm too tender hearted to kill anything. We made jerky a few times and it was awesome, better than any store bought. There is even a butcher shop that will make your venison into summer sausage. We usually process it ourselves though,I have a meat grinder.Mix your venison half and half with bacon or it's too lean and will stick in the skillet. You can also season it up like sausage.Fried squirrel is also good or if it's an old tough squirrel stew it and make dumplings.
