Don't.You can get an ear infection from that.

Depending if you have allergies or a cold, sometimes it could take five, ten, or fifteen seconds to blow your nose. Usually not as long as fifteen, but maybe, if you're really congested.

Out of politeness, maybe briefly excuse yourself and step 10 feet away from the group.

Beyond this, other people should not be so insistent on 'normality' or their preferred version of same.
