Who here has ever done a double red cell donation?

I have been donating whole blood for several years. Now the Red Cross has been pressuring me quite aggressively to do a double red cell donation. Recently they have begun claiming you actually feel better after a double red cell donation than after donating whole blood.

I am dubious, for one thing, you have to go twice as long between donations. It seems to me that, if you need twice as much time to recover, it must be significantly more demanding.

Also red blood cells are what transport oxygen throughout the body, so I would think giving up twice as many could be harder.
