Is anyone actually going to watch this quasi-religious rite?

Sure will. It's my hometown team (Seattle) vs. Tom Brady and the deflating/scandal-filled Patriots. I think SEA has the better advantage as Tom Brady was woken up by smoke alarms in his hotel a few times this week...messing up their performance. And of course, the whole deflate-gate scandal. I buy it a little bit, but unless there was camera footage in the bathroom (which there will never be) of the guy going in with the 2 bags of footballs before gametime, we will never know how those balls deflated completely. Russell Wilson and the Hawks have not been woken up by shenanigans.

Last year was a shocker with the 43-8 Seattle win over Denver, hopefully this year will be a miracle as well. Been a fan for over 10 years. But the last 2 years have been the best ever for Seattle!

Will also watch for commercials...especially that Clydesdale horse of Budweiser; and hope that Katy Perry's wardrobe doesn't malfunction.

I'll probably turn it on for a few minutes to see the score. If it's on longer than that, it will be because I'm doing something else and am not paying attention.

Nope, not watching, as I can't stand most professional sports. I find it amusing that some people claim they watch it solely for the commercials. If I did watch the Super Bowl, I certainly wouldn't stay in the room to watch all the disgusting advertisements directed at Americans infected with the disease of consumerism. They really drive home what this even is about.

I'd be more likely to watch it if there were no commercials.

The only reason for commercials is to give you time for a bathroom break, but not many people have to go to the bathroom that often.
