In the last week or so my knees feel like they have got bigger. My favourite pair of jeans ripped at one of the knees when I knelt down, and those jeans are not tight-fitted ones, they are rather stretchy at the knees. And now whatever trousers I wear they feel tight around my knees, which is causing discomfort and making me feel afraid to bend my knees because I feel like my trousers/jeans are going to suddenly rip at the knees again. I don't know what's brought this on all of a sudden. It's not happening in any other joints, just my knees. What could this be, and is there anything I can do about it?

Doesn't sound normal. Might want to see a doctor about it, or try googling it.

Yeah that does sound a bit odd...then again depending on how old you are it could be a growth spurt if you've gotten taller at all that could cause more stress in the knees of your pants causing them to rip I personally wish a couple pairs of mine would rip quicker as I like jeans ripped in the knees. Or over time fabric can rip so if they are old jeans you've worn a lot they could have just finally got worn down enough to rip.

But the other possibility I can think of would be joint swelling which usually is not a good thing, and would likely need medical attention.

Well I hope I haven't grown, I feel tall enough already and I hate being tall. Well I'm only 5 foot 6 but most women seem to be around 5 foot 3 or 5 foot 4, and even though they are only a few inches shorter than me they still say ''you're so tall!'' as if I'm about 6 foot or something. When you're shy and private like me, you want to be shorter so that you can hide behind crowds better. :)

Anyway, I don't like ripped jeans myself. I don't mind if they're already there when you first buy them, but when they are caused by your knees, I don't like it. I don't like feeling the hole being there when I bend my knees to sit down, and sometimes they rip even more and I cannot stand that ripping sound of clothes. It makes me cringe terribly.

Maybe I will see a doctor.

Yeah I like hiding behind crowds too, but I am 6'1 or so and end up always being the one standing out.
