Regular Tape Bad for Skin?
Sometimes, bugs like to bite me where I've got body hair. Conventional bandages don't stick for long, and using gauze tape is really hard to remove and is too extreme for tiny bug-bites. So, I've been using regular tape (the clear kind you use in office tape dispensers) to keep the bandages from slipping off. I'm starting to wonder if my skin could be absorbing something toxic...
It's probably best not to use tape too often. Only use it to keep bandages on serious or big cuts, because some of the chemicals in the glue probably do get absorbed by the skin. The glue used by some bandages bothers my skin. I am puzzled by one thing, though. Why are you putting bandages on bug bites? I don't know of any one who puts bandages on such little things. How big are the bugs and how big are the bites? Are you clawing them into a bleeding mess? For itchy bug bites, run hot water over the bite for a short time several times a day, or use a hot compress the same way. Make the hot water/compress as hot as you can stand it. The heat temporarily calms the itching down some. I read about this a while back and started using this method myself on mosquito bites, and yes, it does work. I think it's also supposed to help for painful bites, like bee stings. The heat breaks down some of the poison and some of your body's over-reaction to the bug bites.
To reduce getting bit try a soap with peppermint in it. Bugs don't like peppermint.

Or even easier, go to walgreens or something and get some anti-itch cream or something like that to help reduce irrtiation/itchyness of bug bites. I cannot imagine bandaging them is the best idea since if I am mistaking you don't want to do anything to help hold in whatever irritant said bug that bit you put in your skin to cause the bothersome itch.
Is it just like general outdoor bugs like in the spring summer, specifically mosquitos or another specific bug....or are you more constantly waking up with bug bites you aqqurire like asleep, in which case I'd recommend deep cleaning your room, change sheets/blankets in case you have unwanted bugs making a home of your personal space. If its outside...then there is bug-spray to make it less likely for bugs to bite you, though I find some of that stuff just seems to attract more, so that can be a hit and miss. Also bugs tend not to like smoke....I admit I've smoked cigarettes just to try and minimize the amount of biting bugs swarming me.
