I would love to stop my cycle of procrastination, the cause of mg procrastination is I don't drive, my parents and sister don't want to deal with me, I do nothing productive at home all day. I wish I can articulate more fully what I want. I am depressed and lack self-esteem.

I want to workout and get muscles, but I dont know how to get started which is why i procrastinate. I wish someone could make it easier for me.

Hey K_Kelly.

Is your neighborhood relatively safe? If so, then how about walking/running/biking in the early morning/evening? It's a good way to get out of the house and refresh your mind. Do you have a park near you? Sometimes they have monkey bars there if you're interested in doing pull-ups.

If you have some free-weights & free-time try starting out slowly at home.

If carving out time because of too many distractions at home is holding you back you might try attaching 'mini-workouts' to established habits. I do a series of squats and lunges while I brush my teeth. This may seem negligible, but I can do about 50 reps each time I brush, which means that I am getting in 100 squats/lunges every day. It only took about a month for some impressive definition in my legs/glutes/core to begin to show.

I keep resistance bands & 10 lb dumbles under my computer desk so that I can work my upper body while I read/research. Before I shower everyday, I do 10 push-ups & 10 sit-ups (slowly so I can maximize resistance & perfect my form). Body weight resistance can be as effective as gym equipment and it is healthier for beginner-bodybuilders (because it works muscles in a balanced way, rather than isolating muscles which can cause injury if you don't have a good foundation of established balanced muscle.)

I can definitely relate to not feeling motivated & to procrastinating...it really is hard when you can't drive - I also can't drive because of my autism. Try to stay positive & remember that doing a little bit of exercise here and there and eating healthy will add up to a great result...having those good habits and a good foundation of balanced muscle established before you start going to the gym is going to allow you to reach your fitness goals faster and with fewer injuries.
