Anyone else do this? It was shockingly easy for me, though the package was only 375g rather than a full pound. Still, 0.82 pounds uncooked weight is nothing to sneeze at.

To quote the television bastian of American exceptionalism, Hee Haw, "Saa-lute!"

Seriously though, I am envious.

What is with people and bacon? What is the appeal? And, do you like yours crispy, or just barely cooked?

I've just discovered well done bacon with cheese on toast. Not to be underestimated...

I don't think it's that hard to eat that amount of bacon but obviously you probably shouldn't, honestly I've never fetishized over bacon like some since I never liked it crispy and I grew up in a big household so I got like 2 pieces anyways.

I took the whole slab and cooked on a George Foreman-alike grill (not sure what the technical term is). Then, after peeling a few strips off and eating them I decided to lightly fry some bread on the grill, and I made a sandwich with bacon, mayo, and hot sauce. Delicious! :D

I like a very slight crisp to mine, like I prefer it more to have a meaty texture than a crispy one. I think it's a crime against it when people fry it to the point where it's hard and brittle. As for the appeal, idk, I guess it's because it's fatty, salty, and downright delicious.

Two pieces is like NOTHING. 8O I know eating an entire package is probably unhealthy, but eh, so are about a million other things.

Since you are from Alberta I'm going to assume we're talking about Canadian bacon until i hear otherwise.

That's how I like mine too.

That's just depressing to think about now.

What you guys call "Canadian bacon", we just call back bacon. :P The bacon people normally buy here is pretty much just normal, American-style bacon.

Whenever I buy raw bacon (which is rare), I cut the package in half and freeze one half since I would never eat an entire pack all at once even if I wanted to.

Frying bacon is a real pain. Literally, if the grease splashes you. I usually just buy the pre-cooked bacon now even though they only have maybe 12 strips, and I don't buy that often either. Actually I usually pan-fry it instead of putting it in the microwave because it makes the bacon too hard and crunchy.

And I prefer regular bacon over so-called Canadian bacon, like most people in Canada, in case you're wondering. :P
