I was a huge hockey fan as a teenager. Being an Islander fan will take that from you rather quickly. I haven't watched a game in years. Considered going back as I know they have one of the better players in the league and they play in a place I could conceivably go to games now.

Great sport though. Most underrated athletes in the world.

I think you don't hear about it (in the US anyway) because it is behind so many sports in popularity. The NHL is the 5th most popular professional sports league as even MLS has surpassed it (don't ask me how).

I think any professional athlete with a lot of money would find trouble quite easily.

Red Wings fan since 1987. Rode them through the lean years, to the great years, and now into the mediocre years-- and that means something when you're surrounded by Avalanche fans.

Yeah, I'm supposed to be either a Ducks fan or a Kings fan. I can't stand either team.
My philosophy on where hockey teams are placed is if it doesn't freeze outside, you shouldn't be playing hockey inside.

Team to watch: Calgary. They have improved so much in the past few years that I really enjoy watching them.
