If I don't eat within about an hour or so of feeling a typical sensation of hunger in my stomach, I start to feel sick. My mouth goes dry, and I feel like I'm going to uncontrollably heave. Then I start to feel too sick to want to eat, and it becomes a vicious cycle.

I do eat regularly. I make sure I have breakfast, lunch and dinner every day. I love eating, so I usually vary what I eat (I don't eat the same thing every day). No foods disagree with me. But hunger does. I think when I get too hungry the walls of my stomach touch each other, which causes discomfort and nausea.

Travelling is the WORST of all. Before travelling, I have to make sure my stomach is full. So if I travel after eating a big meal, I feel great. But if I eat something light, like a piece of toast, then start feeling hungry again when travelling, I will start to feel all dry and sick.

It worries me a little, because this can cause obesity. Does anyone else get like this? I never used to. Just within the last couple of years.

It could be anything, you need to talk to a doctor about it.

You may be loosing something quicker than you can recover it.

It may actually be down to the type of foods you are eating. For instance food high in sugar.

Could be an ulcer, gastritis, or an overly acidic stomach. Or something entirely different. I'd see a doctor about it if I were you. I had similar symptoms when I had an inflamed stomach.

This happens to me as well! While I would suggest seeing a doctor to rule out something serious, I can tell you what happened with me.

I went to see a doctor about it and he basically just concluded I just had a fast metabolism/needed to eat more frequently than other people. I started eating a protein bar around 10am (about midway between breakfast and lunch, when I would always start feeling nasty) and my problems disappeared. It's really important to stay hydrated too. To cope with the symptoms, be good about keeping snacks with you for now while you wait to see a doctor.
