Anyone into yoga? I used to take classes and am looking to again. It is relaxing and good exercise.

I used to take classes too, the first lesson was so gentle, mostly lying on our mats learning to breath, and I thought 'yeah I can exercise like this for an hour' lol, the second lesson was very different.
I switched to pilates because its exercises put less strain on my back.

I'm interested in pilates too. Never tried it though.

I tried it out for the first time this past Thursday. My core, yikes! I'm going to keep doing it.

Way to go.

I looked at the clock often during my first class.
4 weeks later I'm not looking at the clock, but still feeling it.

Monkey brain(running thoughts) still is there but it seems quieter at times.

Yoga helps me focus on my breath and bodily sensations as I do the moves. This calms my mind. I've taken classes and also used videos and apps.

Often though, I don't feel motivated to drag out the mat and get started. I know it's good for me, and I also have lots of things I'd rather be doing in the moment. Thoughts?

I take my mat to the city recreation center

I noticed I did anything a shorter amount of time when I did it on my own.
That included stationary bike, weights and yoga.
Going again at 3 pm today.
Went one time to Pilates. The first time led to frustration during and pain the next day
I've only been at yoga for short time. It was frustrating at first and it still is bit on a different level.
I think it is worth the time.

Once I actually attend a class, I feel very motivated to exercise. So I know what you mean. Even the act of going to the gym used to help when I had a membership. Sometimes, I walk or do other types of exercise while talking on the phone, and I talk about how yes, I'm doing XYZ. The conversation helps me focus less on what I dislike about the exercise. Of course, this doesn't work for yoga at all LOL.

The last class of yoga I
went there were a few words spoken and even laughter.

I had to resist making appropriate? Noises for poses like cobra, dog and cat.
The few times I have the roof did not come down own me. Once the teacher made a comment such as Exactly.

Years ago I said I would NEVER ( caps for never ever ever ever) join a gym. These days I go 2 to 4 times a week. (Spin/cycle included)
