I had no idea that aspies suffered from hypermobility. I'm wondering how many others have it, to what severity and how you cope. I've been dislocating joints since I was 12 and it has become progressively more frequent. I have at least one joint dislocated about 75% of the time. The joints I usually have problems with are my spine, ribs, hips, pelvis, and hands. I'm allergic to any for of ibuprofen and the only pain killers that can even touch the pain make me feel out of it for about 3 days. I just tough it out until it goes back in on it's own or I'm no longer mobile. And then I go to the chiropractor. My only redeeming quality is that I can handle a stupid amount of pain.

I have dislocated my right shoulder 12 times, but there was a major accident that started it, after that it would just pop out brushing my teeth.

I'm double-jointed in that I can put my feet behind my head, but I didn't know we were at a greater risk of dislocating joints. I've never dislocated anything, which is good, because I have a low pain threshold.

I'm not a professionally diagnosed Aspie (yet), but I'm extremely hypermobile to the point that my rheumatologist thinks I might have EDS. I sublux my knees constantly.

i used to be able to do that bending backwards...but never dislocated anything, the worst injury i've had excluding road rash from bike crashes was a hyper-extended knee at 7 years old..but I can also handle an insane amount of pain...during a fight on the school bus, the other kid broke part of my upper jaw....i never even felt it. (still broken btw)
