So I've been thinking hard about this for well over a decade.

Anybody got any advice or tales of caution?

Maybe you have used them and have had positive experiences.

I can't decide whether to try them or not.

I'm 43 years old & I go sprinting 2 or 3 times a week.

I'm in good condition and not feeling any affects of aging at all.

But I would like to be a lot bigger.

If you want to get bigger, then lift. Steroids won't perform miracles and if you do not lift, then the kind of steroids regular people can afford won't give you more than 5 lbs of lean mass. Steroids have their place if you're benching 350 lbs and wish to get to the next level.

Keep in mind that your heart's a muscle too, so steroids would probably be bad for it. Using them for just a few months might be okay though.

If you do steroids for a few months then permanently quit, I've often wondered how much you keep out of the gains you've made from the steroids? I imagine you lose some of the gains, but not all of them.

Depends on what steroids we're talking about. Because of muscle memory, it will be easier to regain what you've lost naturally. If you use estrogen blockers afterwards and manage to increase your natural production quickly, you won't lose any gains you made prior to steroids, at least.

You need to lift and eat to grow in order to pack on healthy mass. You can do roids but what is the point? Your noob gains will most likely show quite a bit and make you look ripped unless your bodyfat is somewhat high, and after that's well and done all you need to do is keep lifting and eating for size, then you are bound to keep growing.

Besides that have you tried natty test/hgh boosters on the market? They don't have near the bad wrap as most roids do.

lol, I remember the school drug-propaganda which said that you lose all of the steroid gains you've made upon quitting.

Heh, yeah schools tend to frame bad things in absolute terms. Wouldn't want the kiddies to ask questions we don't know the answer to.

I you have kids and don't want any more also don't have skin sensitivity to DHT or don't care if you go bald then you really don't have anything to worry about. There are lots of options to get the results that you are looking for too just be sure to come off good to keep your gains you should have no problems. You should also find a doctor or good chiropractor just in case you have problems which you more than likely wont have.

& you'd be impotent after abit because your testicles would shrivel up & disappear.

Have you considered Aromatase Inhibitors? They block or reduce estrogen thus increasing the testosterone to estrogen ratio even more. Some body-builders have found them to be a slight help. I think they might be safer than steroids but I'm not sure how much benefit you'd get. I used Nolvadex/Tamoxifen for a bit but I switched to Arimidex/Anastrozol. I'm taking it about every few days to counteract sexual side-effects from some meds I'm on for male-pattern baldness & I tolerated them both fine.

I was reading an article the other day about a guy that went on a shooting rampage. Apparently he did steroids lost all his body hair because of it and became really angry. The only thing he said that helped his anger was working out at the gym.

I don't know anything about any of this stuff and would never even consider it. I can understand the attraction when you see women are holding up musclely ripped male bodies as perfect specimens though. But do you want to risk your health for that...

If I were you, I'd just see what you can get naturally by lifting weights if you want to get big. Like even if you do do steroids I'd say you are still going to have to do the work to get big.

I'm a bodybuilder haven't used steroids but I've met plenty of people that have, You have to be training for at least a year before you go on juice, Its expensive and it can ruin your liver in the long term, Have a look at photos of Arnold these days, he doesn't look healthy.. my advice is stay natty but its your descision just make it wisely.

Why do you want to be a lot bigger, to the extent that you would consider taking steroids ?

If you do a cycle, don't do bodybuilding bro cycles of ridiculousness (1000mg a week first cycle.)

Bill March, one of the first test subject's for Dr. Ziegler's Dianabol steroid, overhead pressed 390lbs at like 200 on just 10mg a day. But if you go look at random bodybuilding recommendations people say to take like 30 with testosterone for your first cycle. Dr. Ziegler with Dianabol recommended 5mg for lightweights, 10 for middleweight, and 15 for heavyweights. 5 was meant to be a full androgen replacement. So obviously bodybuilders have gone off the rails in how they use drugs compared to their "intended" use.

That's David Rigert there, another 1970s weightlifter. The official Russian dianabol cycle was .5mg per kilo of bodyweight, 3 weeks on, 3 weeks off.

So if you do steroids, just please don't be an idiot, only do like 250mg of testosterone or something.

Now, I don't think you should do steroids. You should probably just eat a lot and lift heavy. Basically, as Kurgan said, it's much to use steroids to turn your 350 bench into a 450 or 500 bench. Because otherwise it'll turn your 135 into a 250 or 275 bench.

Sorry for spamming videos, but here's another explaining. Dave Tate referred to steroids as your ace card, in that you can only use it once.

His example is, if you use steroids to make your high school football team, you're probably not gonna go to college football, if you use it in college, you probably won't go to the NFL, etc.

It's not expensive. Here in Norway, a pill of dianabol is 2 NOK (roughly 35 cents).
