My obsession with fitness trackers
My current obsession is fitness tracking devices like Fitbits, Garmin etc. I just purchased two new ones: the Mi Band 3 and the an Amazfit Bip. Both of them are very good devices at a very good price. Does anyone else have an obsession like this?

My fitbit is integral to my daily routine and has been for a few years. I have the Blaze model and it doubles as my watch. I use the countdown and stopwatch functions often. I do not use sleep tracking and no longer use the heart monitor feature. I ensure I get my 10,000 steps 5-6 days per week.
How do you like the Mi Band, especially compared to the fitbit? I was thinking of picking one too.

Oh ya, I have been tracking using various devices since 2005.
Why do I have an urge to see what my heart is doing? I don't do much other than check the graphs. It started with as Polar watch for running, then Garmin, then I migrated to a couple different FitBits. Now I am back on Garmin, this time a Vivoactive 3. I have been thinking about an Apple Watch. Maybe, one of these days. The Garmin is pretty good though.
I really love the Mi Band 3, it's basic and straight to the point. I wanted a tracker that was waterproof but was not going to fork out the money for a Fitbit. The Mi Band is just as accurate as a Fitbit but at a fraction of the price. Since both the Mi Band and the Amazfit Bip are produced by the same company, I can use one app for both devices. I use the Mi Band for runs and working out where I will sweat alot and the Amazfit I use any other time. My goal is 22000 steps a day and that is roughly 10 miles

I thought about getting a Garmin as I heard good reviews but the Mi Band was more in my price range. I love the fact I can see a somewhat accurate picture of what my heart is doing.

Me too. I always check it. Funny, I was on my way to a specialists appointment yesterday when my watch warned me about abnormal heart rate. I spiked high for a while. It knew I was anxious about the appointment, although I didn't "feel" any different. It calmed back down afterwards.

The Garmin one gives you warnings when your heart rate is off? Ive been using a Fitbit for a number of years to watch my heart rate. I have really low blood pressure and can never find my pulse, even when working out. I like seeing my sleep results too. I have sleep apnea and like to see how the stats from my trackers compare.
I have a problem with watches of all kinds, smart or otherwise. I have a high amount of electricity in my body so I tend to short them out. I did that with three Fitbits a couple of years ago (in a row) and gave up.
I'm wearing a Garmin now that my mom gave me. I like it so far. It's not an obsession but it does make me conscious of being more active. It lags when it comes to calculating floors of stairs, and updating my heart rate. But my phone (Samsung) has a monitor on it for my heart rate, oxygen and stress level. So I use that for better accuracy.

Thanks! I’ve been through two Fitbits now myself. The batteries don’t seem to hold a charge for long. My iPhone has a health monitoring aspect but I’ve not paid much attention to it. I guess I should. I have a very low heart rate and can never find my pulse, so thats why I like the tracker. Do you have to be carrying your phone for it to track your activity?
The Fitbit is not good on stairs either. I have to take them at least twice a day and they aren’t usually counted.
