It doesn’t seem like Crohn’s to me.

I’d get it checked out, though.

No food really triggers diarrhea for me. I've written a diary before on what I'd eaten each day and there seemed to be no pattern.
It's a bit like sleep. I can be really insomniac one night and sleep perfectly well the next, and it has nothing to do with what I did or eaten during the day. It's just my body.

Maybe it's related to ADHD? Because I have very little routine, my body must have very little routine too.

Maybe you can rule out foods but take care because the effects of foods can build up in the body and cause longterm effects.

Anyway, you need to get this checked out for sure :)

If I get it checked out then they'll give me a colonoscopy and I have a fear of colonoscopies like most people fear the dentist.
The dentist is a piece of cake compared to colonoscopies. They're embarrassing as well as painful, awful and did I mention embarrassing? A cutie like me having to talk to a stranger (don't care how professional) about how much I fart and poop.

As far as strangers are concerned, I DON'T FART! I don't care how normal it is, normal doesn't always mean not humiliating.

I hate bowels. They're so corrupt, designed to go wrong. And no cliches like "colonoscopies will save your life" because I know that but I'm still reluctant to have a colonoscopy. I'm bored of the narrative always being "see the doctor". I hate going to the doctors. All I want to know is how I can avoid getting diarrhea when I go on holiday.

I know what you mean, Joe. I really do.

Sometimes, alas, one has to do embarrassing things to keep healthy.

I had to have a doctor stick his finger up my butt as part of my prostate cancer diagnosis. You think I liked that? I had to sort of "bite the bullet."

I have an anxiety disorder, you're bound to get a bit of irritable bowels with anxiety, especially with the anxiety levels I have (as some of you know from some of my posts!)

I don't get much trouble with my digestive system. Just constipation and diarrhea sometimes, but I know a lot of women with constipation problems, as I read somewhere that IBS is common in women.

It's true:

Every woman I know has some degree of constipation. I feel like it's frequently caused by being self-conscious.

Do all the women you know talk to you about their constipation?

You would be surprised how many women have trusted me with these sorts of details.

Part of it is because I'm, sort of halfway, not seen as being a "typical man."

I don’t share that stuff with any gender.

Do guys talk to other guys about their issues with constipation?

Women do talk about their ailments more. I do, but I don't like talking about farting. That's my personal business and I'm the type to fart only in private. I've been with my boyfriend 8 years now and I've never farted in front of him, mostly because I don't really need to. Yes, I know I could fart in my sleep but usually my boyfriend is asleep when I'm asleep, or if he's awake he doesn't lay in the bed, he'll get up. Or he probably just forgets. But even so, I still don't like farting in front of people. I haven't farted in front of any of my family since I was a child, even my very close relatives.

I don’t talk about ailments that I find embarrassing unless it’s to a doctor.

I think I just really value my privacy.

They might.....though it's not frequent, just like it's not frequent with women. It's not an everyday focus of conversation.

But I've lived with a number of women.....and all have been constipated.

That sounds like a strange coincidence.

Maybe.....but that's what happened.

I said "to a certain degree."

I suspect that their constipation had more to do with a low fiber diet, consisting of lots of cheese and pasta, than with being “self conscious.”
